I think that it is terrific that he rewards his staff for their long hours and dedication. i think that it was a frugal campaign. His people didn't earn that much. Other campaigns paid their people a lot more and I am sure that Obama's people could have earned more outside the campaign. They did a great job and I am happy that they get this bonus for the holidays- particularly since the job market is so horrible right now.

Good for them! These people worked long and hard to help this victory possibe. As a donator to Obama's campaign, I think they deserve not only a pat on the back and a thank you from all of us, but a bonus is a real sign of appreciation of a job Well Done!

That's what businesses have forgotten over the years, the people who made them who they are. I'm proud of Obama recognizing his people and it shows he's humble and appreciative. There is no better boss than that.

just saying. reward is just, indeed, for good performance. but damnit, as the bucket is leaking all we're doing is shooting it more full of holes.

As a contributer..HURRAY! I think it is an especially sensitive gesture on Obama's part, after all, these people won him the election..and their jobs are, for the most part, over..in the worst economy in over 20 years.

That's not just a "feel good" gesture..it's practical and it helps real people who otherwise might have had trouble with their bills in a month or so.

Kudos, staffers for a job well done. I hope these dedicated staffers get great letters of recommendation for their future careers. These hard working folks would be an asset to any organization. Hopefully, many of them will fill some of the open federal positions. No doubt we'd see a huge efficiency increase.

Not that Obama needs my approval, but I happily approve of my donations going as bonuses to these hard working campaign staffers.

It's actually rather refreshing to be able to feel good about people receiving a bonus that is EARNED!!!
I donated multiple times in incriments of $25 (a total of maybe $250) over the course of the primary & General election. I know that's not a lot but to me it was a stretch & more than I've ever given to a political campaign. I believe that money was well spent & well managed & seeing enough left over to reward these people for their assistance in restoring some sanity to this world warms my heart.
Seeing Obama's words reflected in an action that shows he cares about people tells me we made the right choice... Peace.

I'd say give half the left overs as bonuses, and give the rest to charity.

Just my opinion.

What he'll do with the rest is help out the other Democratic candidates to pay off their debts. That's what always happens if there are leftovers.

Imagine! Workers being appreciated, valued and actually paid for their worth. If business had not stopped doing the same, we'd not be in the mess we're in. Salaries stagnant. A better bottom line always meaning cutting as many jobs as possible. Remember when AT&T cut thousands upon thousands of jobs when they were doing very well? So Obama has put his money literally where his mouth is and may this be the first payment in a new era of middle class restoration. BRAVO PE Obama. BRAVO. Take a bow. Several bows.

These people are the greatest people in the world - if I were in charge I would
give them all a 6 month salary bonus.
They have earned it and deserve it.

As a contributor, I couldn't be happier. So glad he didn't use the money for a 150k wardorbe.

I agree. It's the only investment I've made in the past 10 years that paid off. And what did the Republican's get for their investment? A slightly used, over priced wardrobe. LOL

Did you ever figure out how much Palin actually spent each day? By the time she had racked up a $150,000 total, it was ONE THOUSAND dollars day!

I don't call that conservative on any level.

Contributing to the Obama campaign was the best investment I ever made. I am so grateful to all who made it happen.
