Obama's Campaign Staffers Get Bonuses

Barack Obama ended his campaign so flush with cash he's telling staffers to keep the change - and then some.

Long-suffering political footsoldiers who toiled tirelessly, at least since September, to put Obama in the White House recently learned they will be getting extra paychecks worth a month's salary, the Daily News has learned.

They worked hard and deserve it. However, the Obama campaign continues to solicit money, which I believe is wrong. I think they should send out a free commemorative T-shirt that they are selling for $30 to all the people who had contributed to the campaign.

I believe the commemorative T-shirt is being sold to retire the debt incurred by the DNC on behalf of Obama and other Democratic races.

Those contributions is for DNC. For legal reasons, President-elect Obama could not give therest of money to the DNC. So he is also trying to build the contributions for the Party. That is what I call self less service to those that help campaign for him.

Obama's campaign was so frugal, that there was a joke, that you were allowed one paper towel to dry your hands, but if you needed another, you had to get permission.

As seen in the comments, some of them don't understand that this is not federal money, he can do pretty much anything he wants with it, and I'm glad he put it back into those who invested so much in him. This is rewarding TRUE hard work. Obama is for helping hard working folks, don't get it twisted!

As someone on a fixed income who donated to Obama's campaign I have absolutely no problem with this. I know how hard and tirelessly those people worked and that most of them were taking time away from careers where they could have been making a lot more. They did a fantastic job and they deserve a bonus.
