CNN:

(CNN) -- Rick Davis, the campaign manager for former John McCain's White House bid came to Sarah Palin's defense in an upcoming interview with the National Review, saying the now-infamous $150,000 clothing tab for the Alaska governor was caused by a "failure of management."

In the interview, set for publication next week, Davis notes Palin's appearance at the Republican convention came only days after she was named to the GOP ticket, and the Alaska governor had few clothes on hand that were appropriate for the event.

"We flew her out from Alaska to Arizona to Ohio to introduce her to the world and take control of her life. She didn't think 'dress for the convention', because it might have just been a nice day trip to Arizona if she didn't click with John. Very little prep had been done and if it had, we might have gotten picked off by the press. We were under incredible scrutiny."

The republican ethos is beyond management at this point. Stuff it.

I think I have a case of Palin fatigue. I do hope these stories die down. The subject is becoming boring.

Oh you think you were under scrutiny so you failed to scrutinize your candidate? Davis pack your bags and get out of town....you should never touch politics again because you are clearly not good for America.

They nominated the Beverly Hillbillies. Maybe they'll figure it out before they run her again. I kinda hope they don't. He-He-He!

The GOWP will put Sarah and Sinnytur Suxby Chambliss on the ticket for 2012 to solidify the Old South and Appalachia vote. Is America great or what?

Piper's Louis V purse shows she knew about it and was liking it a lot - hell who wouldn't? I would love it. It was just that the campaign used public money - so it was a bad thing. Their rich friends could have bought her clothes like the Reagan's rich friends did for them. The real kicker is if it is true that the house she is living in was built for her for free by that same contractor Stevens got into trouble with. The company got a contract to build a sports arena and I am told Palin got a house. It that is true - that is even more terrible than stealing money from your state to sleep at home.

I read the whole post. He said " nobody knew what that stuff was worth.."
I bet the women knew. Is it McCain's fault he didn't have more women in the campaign?
Maybe. Guaranteed Palin knew what it was worth. And who OKd Todd's share? God I'm glad these people aren't taking over in January. They can't manage a campaign, they sure can't repair the mess their GOP has made of our country.

Palin knew exactly what it was worth....150.00 per dress plus consignment shop is hardly the thrift shop bargain. And why were we dressing Todd? and the children? I never got that....

i still blame her, she had to have an idea what all this stuff was costing. granted she's not that smart, but still. she's a mooch, a user, just like she padded her expense account in alaska. she got a free ride for the entire family, right down to the one who looks like shirley temple. users, the entire lot. rick davis is simply covering his butt, knowing they'll be another campaign just around the corner, and doesn't want to be shut out. he's hedging his bets, and knows where his bread is buttered. mccain is yesterdays news, palin and the other repubs are the future.

Rick isn't telling us anything we didn't already know. Someone below said, "Duh yuh THINK?" I would only add, "REALLY. Do. You. THINK?"

We all knew this was a "failure of management" all along. No one stepped up to manage this wardrobe thing. It speaks to John McCain. It speak to Rick Davis. It speaks to Sarah Palin. None of them figured it out or knew what was going on. It was a stupid mistake that got them in a lot of trouble WITH MCCAIN'S OWN Campaign Finance Reform LAW. What other messes are lurking in those RNC and campaign numbers that we haven't heard about (yet)?
