PARIS — U.S. actress Lindsay Lohan has been pelted with a flour bomb on arrival at a Paris nightclub wearing a fur stole.

Animal rights activists showered the 22-year-old actress with flour when she went to the VIP Room Theater in the early hours of Saturday with her friend, disc jockey Samantha Ronson.

The owner of the nightclub helped Lohan dust off her blue sequined dress and black stole before she posed on the red carpet. Ronson went on to spin tracks for a crowd that included reggae rapper Shaggy and "I Kissed a Girl" singer Katy Perry.

What gets me about people who protest fur is that often, people wear "vintage" fur clothing. By doing this, they're not contributing further to the problem, as they are just wearing something that has already been made. Perhaps Lindsay bought the coat second hand?

I respect animal rights activists in sticking up for animals that are mistreated, but they will get no where if they continue to vandalize other people's property.... when they do that, they are essentially putting animals above people... do they not care and respect people as well?

Doesn't matter if it was vintage - it still gives the go-ahead to anmal torture as an acceptable fashion statement.

Cucumber, people who wear fur coats are not animal torturers. You don't attack people or their property to make a political statement.

Do you eat eggs, chicken, beef or even spinach. Hello!!!!!! They all got life and yet nobody yells on you on the streets. I can wear fur coats if I want and nobody can tell me not to, just as nobody can stop me from eating chicken or turkey, or even fish. People need to exercise some common sense on trivial things.

I was just thinking of my favorit cuts of meat.

I would have to say prime rib is bees knees. Its' just the best.

A close second though, is the porterhouse. How great is one steak that has two cuts of meat in it. Both the tender filet and the hearty, well marbled strip.

There is nothing wrong a good sirloin either. It can be a little tough, but a soy sauce based marinade can take care of that.

The most underated cut though is the shoulder roast. Put one of those baby's in slow cooker bathed in beef broth for about nine hours and you can eat it even if you didn't have teeth.

If anyone needs any grilling or roasting advice, I would be happy to help.

I think it's fine to eat meat so long as the animal wasn't mistreated in the process. It's important to know "where" your meat comes from and what the conditions are like for the animals. I eat mostly vegan, but when I do eat meat, I make sure it's meat that comes from an animal that was "not" stuck in a tiny little cage and mistreated. It's horrible how some of these animals are treated, and I do not want to contribute to the continuation of that. :(

Keep eating your meat, but "please" be thoughtful and aware in the process. If you are unaware of the very real conditions in which most animals are treated in factory farms, please go to: http://www.goveg.com/factoryFarming.asp

Thanks for reading. :)

please you must try WAGU BEEF..my vegetarian friend craved meat while pregnant..although she never touched meat again..cant tell you how her skin glowed from the meat protein.
and she keeps eating wagu beef now..she obviously realised what she was missing all these years, that she looked yellow and under nurished.

wagu beef is a baby cow, given beer to drink with milk, and given daily massage to soften the beef when its finally ready for sloughter.

cucumber you should try it.

It's kinda' hard to get close enough to Bu$h or VP Shooter, otherwise I'm certain they would have been repeatedly pelted with flour bombs, old shoes, garbage, offal, feces, etc.

Remember Bu$h's inaugurations? That rat couldn't walk more than half a block for fear of being tarred & feathered. People risked certain arrest just to chuck eggs at his motorcade.

After the flap at Heathrow, one might think that Lindsay would have had an epiphany about the whole fur coat thing. The fact that she wore it again, shows how clueless she is on any number of levels, both from a moral and PR point of view.

First of all, I would have whipped somebody's a-s-s if they threw flour on my fur coat. Anyone can have an opinion. Anyone can be an activist, but when you are compelled to vandalize someone's personal property in expressing your beliefs...then you deserve a beatdown - simple. No questions asked. Just Ka-POW!!

Common sense says that if you are so passionate about animal rights, then go after the manufacturers - not the retail customers. That's akin to the not-so-bright law enforcement agencies going after the drug addicts, but not the producers or manufacturers of illegal drugs. It's not a complicated concept. Just a different agenda. We know how to read the tea leaves.

Dook it out Daisy!!
Where was your defense of Lohan when she stole the woman's fur coat from the bar in New York?
Curious...would a whipping of a-s-s and a beatdown be appropriate? After all, Lohan was just expressing her beliefs - one of stealing personal property!!

Karma/payback is a Bit*h!

The issue is not about Lohan stealing someone's coat (If she stole someone's coat, her a-s-s should get t-agged.) Didn't read that in the article. From what I understood, someone doused flour all over her clothing. I am not defending Lohan's character or credibility. Frankly, I don't give a dayum about Lohan. It is the PRINCIPLE of the matter that concerns me. It didn't have to be a fur coat, it could have been a leather outfit, leather shoes, or leather purse (leather comes from animals, right?). Or are the PETA selective in their garments? Lohan was not bothering or harassing anyone. She was minding her own business until some fool(s) decided to shower her personal effects with flour. No one has the right to v-andalize your personal property (i.e. clothing, cars, jewelry, house, computer, etc). I will not accept your m-oronic justification. Either way the matter will get settled - by law or street justice.

There is no reason for wealthy people to wear fur. Substitutes, which for the most part cannot be told from the real thing are just as good and better for humanity.

I would have found a way to show Lohan just HOW her fur coat came to be.

It's really none of your business what anybody - wealthy or not - chooses to wear. Don't like fur, don't wear it. (By the way, fake fur is petroleum-based and very environmentally irresponsible. The real thing is warmer, lasts longer, and comes from a naturally renewable source.)

The best way to enjoy a juicy sirloin is while you're bundled up in a gorgeous fur coat and fabulous leather boots.

Time to stop spreading misinformation. It takes more energy to produce a fur coat than a synthetic one, it is treated with toxic chemicals, and it's not biodegradable:

http://www.antifursociety.org/FUR_IS_IT_GREEN.html
"The fur industry has done studies which show that fur pelts decompose quite rapidly, and therefore, aren't an environmental menace that will over run landfills for years to come. What they aren't telling anyone is that these researchers who conducted these studies apparently used raw fur pelts. While raw pelts will biodegrade, dressed pelts do not. Pelts must be dressed before they can be made into coats. Therefore, the fur industries research is useless, and not even remotely applicable to the issue at hand.

In the dressing of fur pelts, caustic chemicals such as formaldehyde and chromium are used. These are environmental contaminants... EPA fined two fur processing plants for approximately $1.6 million as a result of... The EPA stated that they "found total non-compliance with hazardous waste regulations"...

Fur production also uses a large amount of fossil fuels... the production of a fur coat uses 20 times more fossil fuels than the production of a synthetic jacket. A researcher named Gregory Smith, who at the time worked for Ford Motor Co., did the study. The incredible amount of energy used was attributed to production of feed, processing of the pelts, transporting the pelts to the processor, then to the auction house, on to the wholesaler, then the retailer..."

Ya know dipstick IT IS MY BUSINESS. We, as so called humans are the ones who watch out or SHOULD watch out for those whose deaths are NOT needed in the animal world. Especially the horrible way in which these fur bearing animals are killed.

Cattle for the great part are more humanely killed than Minks, and other fur coat animals. BUT I suppose you would sport a woody watching the way they are boiled alive from inside with electricity to save the coat.

Using your screwed up logic, then why bother having endangered species acts? Why not just hunt anything and everything to extinction.

THIS is the 21st Century. Here's a quarter....go buy yourself a clue.

I don't understand.

People know for a fact that there as been the slaughter of animals not for their meat but for their coats,

They have been hunted viciously to the brink of extinction.

Bengal tigers
Leopards
Cheetahs
Baby Seals
Winter foxes
Red fox
(Help me out...I'm sure there's more)

And I'm sure Lindsey Lohan won't eat the meat of any of the weasels that she wears.

Think about this:

True human goodness, in all its purity and freedom, can come to the fore only when its recipient has no power. Mankind's true moral test, its fundamental test (which lies deeply from view), consists of its attitude towards those who are at its mercy: animals. And in this respect mankind has suffered a fundamental debacle, a debacle so fundamental that all others stem from it. Milan Kundera

We have been at war with the other creatures of this earth ever since the first human hunter set forth with spear into the primeval forest. Human imperialism has everywhere enslaved, oppressed, murdered, and mutilated the animal peoples. All around us lie the slave camps we have built for our fellow creatures, factory farms and vivisection laboratories, Dachaus and Buchenwalds for the conquered species. We slaughter animals for our food, force them to perform silly tricks for our delectation, gun them down and stick hooks in them in the name of sport. We have torn up the wild places where once they made their homes. Speciesism is more deeply entrenched within us even than sexism, and that is deep enough. Ron Lee

Our grandchildren will ask us one day: Where were you during the Holocaust of the animals? What did you do against these horrifying crimes? We won't be able to offer the same excuse for the second time, that we didn't know. Dr. Helmut Kaplan
