PARIS — U.S. actress Lindsay Lohan has been pelted with a flour bomb on arrival at a Paris nightclub wearing a fur stole.

Animal rights activists showered the 22-year-old actress with flour when she went to the VIP Room Theater in the early hours of Saturday with her friend, disc jockey Samantha Ronson.

The owner of the nightclub helped Lohan dust off her blue sequined dress and black stole before she posed on the red carpet. Ronson went on to spin tracks for a crowd that included reggae rapper Shaggy and "I Kissed a Girl" singer Katy Perry.

Are we sure it wasn't her acting abilities that instigated the outrage?

My goodness... I cook with flour all the time!!!

HMMMM...

I feel left out.

Poor me.

Those folks need to get a life... they should instead bake bread and feed the poor.

Jesus will have a thing or two to say to them don't you think!!!

I believe in animal rights, don't eat meat, only buy stuff that isn't tested on animals, etc. But I think this kind of behavior is juvenile and counter-productive. Even though I have to admit I smiled when I read the title.

They probably work for The Lohan's PR firm, for someone who does nothing she has to get notice somehow.

Hey, good thought, johnpherson! How would these "activists" known LL was going to be there? How would they know she'd be wearing fur? Great way to get LL in the news!

Sure it wasn't cocaine they were throwing on her? They probably thought she'd like some....

By the way, I don't own any fur, but when I read articles like this, I feel like going out and buying some, just to show some resistance to these bullies.

It's wrong to give in to this kind of behavior. It's wrong to let the kind of people who do these violent things have their way and succeed at shutting everyone up through intimidation.

These people don't allow anyone to disagree with them.

If you disagree, you get flour dumped on you. You get verbally abused and mocked. You get red paint on your clothes.

People who intimidate their opposition need to be resisted, no matter what excuse they're using to justify their aggressive behavior.

I know, I feel the same way. Like I was out in the woods trapping a martin when the damned thing bit me! I wasn't intimidated, even though my hand was dripping blood, I skinned it's still twitching body which I felt was still mocking me. I thought, how dare you try to intimidate me, you little weasle!

Hah, You me and Lindsay, we'll show them, won't we?

I'll bet King George a couple of hundred years ago was thinking similar thoughts about Washington, Jefferson, Franklin et al.
The reality of change is that it "rarely" happens without violence ie: American revolution, French revolution, the flour is annoying for sure, but essentially non-violent.

So clearly you support fringe pro-life groups taking similar actions against abortion clinics or people entering abortion clinics. After all, they are doing it in the interest of change. Or is that you only support these acts when it happens to be change you agree with?

Non-violent, but I'm under the impression that it is still legally defined as an assault. And, if it were to get in the eyes and cause a problem, battery.

Inappropriate behavior no matter the rationale.

OMG, folks are actually rationalizing whether the use of flour is violent or not. This is f-u-c-k-i-n-g unbelievable. And, we wonder why the h-o-m-i-c-i-d-e rate has gone up.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 06:22 PM on 11/15/2008

I wouldn't wear fur or throw flour, but I hardly think that action was "Violent".

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 12:18 PM on 11/15/2008

it's assault. if someone threw something at me or my girlfriend, i would defend myself and hurt them really bad. you can't go around throwing things with impunity just because you disagree with someone's choice of wardrobe. i know, i know- 'oh, it's so wrong! you shouldn't wear animals!'. well, it's legal. and the answer is not assaulting someone. carving something into an SUV or throwing something at someone wearing fur is assault and property damage.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 12:47 PM on 11/15/2008

Where I'm from, you don't throw anything at someone unless you're trying to pick a fight. This behavior is no better than laying a hand on a girl who doesn't want your hand on her.

Miss QueenOfViolets,

I only have a few short minutes left of my life here at the pig slaughter house where I have been been bullied to exist, only to satisfy your 5 minutes of taste bud pleasure.

It is wrong that all the violence has its' way with all the animals here, and the ability to shut all of us up through your intimidation - terror and brutality.

You do not allow me to disagree with you.

If we animals struggle or disagree we get beat, abused, dragged, choked, kicked, mocked and eventually our throats are slashed - death.

"PEOPLE WHO INTIMIDATE THEIR OPPOSITION NEED TO BE RESISTED"....
Watch the following video in its entirety...only seven minutes of your precious life...The animal community are intimidated and opposed every day through unrelenting bullying and terrorizing.

After you watch the video, but, ONLY after you watch the entire piece...let's continue this dialogue.

GoldenGirl,
Animals are NOT people. Even if you want to pretend to be in a slaughter house, speaking for the pigs, you're not really there. You're in la-la land.

Bambi wasn't real, either, by the way.

Animals cannot disagree. Or agree for that matter. They are animals. And I don't care how they turn into hamburger.

shame on her.
doesn't she know better by now or is it just wanting to be perverse?

They sound almost as bad as the anti-abortion movement.

I think some people join this movement because they want a moral-sounding excuse to show aggressively dominate other human beings.

The medical marijuana movement deals with life and death issues, but I have never heard anyone in our movement use that fact as an excuse to treat people like this.

I guess that's because we know that's not the kind of behavior that sways public opinion or helps win elections.

You don't sway the public by showing how aggressive and dominating you can be towards the people who disagree with your issue.

You are wrong in your assessment of people who care about animals. It is sadness that motivates us. Our hearts are breaking. I have defended Lindsay Lohan, but I never will again. Those who call her shallow and self serving are quite correct. By the way, I believe in taking action for my beliefs. I will be on the streets today demonstrating on behalf of the rights of same sex couples. I am glad you are involved in the medical marijuana movement.

Your and others' care about animal treatment is commendable if well-intentioned and well-enacted. However, acts of protest or frustration, whether with malicious intent or not, through assault, battery, aggravation, and/or vandalism, are not honorable. There are other humane means of dealing with humans to reach more humane animal treatment.

Silly comparison. The marijuana issue does not include cruelty to helpless creatures. When a celebrity wears fur it makes all the idiot followers think it's ok which it is not. Fur is cruelty and anyone with a heart can see that we as humans should be above using cruelty simply to make a fashion statement.

Oh the bravery of this teen idol. To go out and fearlessly fur it up. Sounds like immaturity meets emptiness, sort of a toss up.

Watch a few undercover videos (if you dare) in their intirety regarding animal factories and the fur trade. If one don't start crying or feel helplessly sick, I can't even magine what the right psychological definition would be for such a non-reaction.

I think they should just have laptops and play those videos or project them onto the side of buildings, perhaps the graphic reality would give some people a moment of pause.

But then again brave beautiful people don't really care all that much.

throwing flour is so not the same thing as bombing abortion clinics.

please.

Queen..."they want a moral-sounding excuse to show aggressively (?) dominate other human beings"...

Aggression and domination - what's wrong with that? After all, you are blogging from safely within an empire with over 700 military bases spread over the globe, and a military budget bigger than all of the "enemies" budgets combined.

Anyone who buys furs for their own ego and over inflated sense of importance should be required to sit through a video depicting how these animals are slaughtered. It's bad enough animals die so we can be fed, but to kill simply for decoration is shallow and says so much about the people who wear them.
