No way man, that's too much to give up! Can't they come up with something extraordinary for him?

They need to pass a law to allow email from the Pres that will be kept from public scrutiny for a certain amount of years. It is just a much more efficient form of communication that should be available to them.

I'm surprised that we've not seen his correspondence btwn friends going viral. You know, forwards, cc's etc.

Information is power. The problem we have is with government in general, is that it loses touch with what it's like for ordinary people - buying milk, gas, sending the kids to school, dealing with the IRS, post office and the landlord. He needs to keep the blackberry somehow. Isn't it enough he had to give up smoking? At least get the laptop on his desk. It's the freak'n 21st century.

He will be the first President to use a laptop in the oval office. Wow! That's sad.

I am 24 years old and I hardly EVER talk on the phone, I HATE IT.

I have over 4,000 roll over minutes and AT&T won't let me give them away.

I prefer everything mac (or pc if I have to...)

I feel ya. If I didn't have text messaging, there are quite a few friends who would be angry with me for not chatting with them. I'm not a huge talking on the phone person either. I prefer computer (e-mail or im) or texting. It's our generation, I think. (I'm 25.)

Could be your generation. Talking on the phone is a human interaction, once removed, or maybe only 1/2 removed. Voice is a real-time real-thing, with real emotions attached, apparent and unavoidable.

Typing is a human interaction, true, but twice removed. I like both for different reasons. I'm a boomer.

Voice is definitely more human, though. HATING voice is kinda strange, I think.

I'm 41 and I hate talking on the phone...do as much communicating thru e-mail, im and text as I can. Don't know what I would do if I had to go back to using just my cell.

I'm 33 and I can't live without mine either. I can't handle being on a landline. The only reason my husband and I have it is in case our cells don't work or some such emergency. I feel so bad for him......he HAS to have at least a laptop in his office.
