Bobby Jindal: Something Is Wrong With The GOP

When asked about the future course of the Republican Party following their losses on Election Day - losing not only the White House but also considerable ground in the House and Senate - Gov. Bobby Jindal of Louisiana said it is imperative his party offers solutions to voters, and not just be the opposition.

"As Republicans, we need to do three things to get back on track," he said on CBS' Face The Nation. "Number one, we have got to stop defending the kind of spending and out-of-control spending that we would never tolerate in the other side. You know, when voters tell us that they trust Democrats more to cut their taxes [and] control spending, that tells you something is wrong with the Republican Party. We've got to match our actions with our rhetoric.

What could be wrong Bobby? Bankrupt ideology, a completely corrupt leadership, a well-earned reputation for social hypocrisy, nice resume for a party who hasn't fairly won a national election since 1988. And now a pair of freshman governors that are failures emerge as the future? That ought to work out well.

Well, geezz, what can one say about anyone from LA, after they voted for the party that brought them katrina relief!!! Its got to make you wonder what is wrong with those people?!

Please define "anyone from LA" . New Orleans and other S. Louisiana parishes (counties) voted overwhelmingly Obama-New Orleans voted over 80% Obama. Katrina didn't happen to everyone in Louisiana and unfortunately, once you travel north of New Orleans, it's a different country. So please don't generalize about "those people".

A few comments on this... Calling any group of people "These people" is rude and offensive. Don't assume that the average Louisianian votes for 'Party', it simply isn't the case. Louisianians, myself included, were born into a corrupt political atmosphere. It has taken most of my forty years of life to see most of that corruption done away with. (Louisiana's ex-governo­r-for-life Edwin Edwards is still in jail, as is his son and lots of his friends) Because of that corruption, party loyality is difficult. How can you trust your own party if they are corrupt (it really did come from all sides)?

And so they vote for individuals. Bringing all thier own personal identification of religion, income, race, and morality..­. they vote for individuals. And the state is still running rather well.
After Katrina, After Rita, After Igor... and it will continue to do so.

Yes, by all means listen to Jindal as you formulate your strategy for rebuilding your party. The rest of us would like that very much.

Maybe you should stop destroying the ecology and try something better like solar, and wind, and hydrogen . Try electric cars and trucks charged with solar energy, maybe even new batteries that run longer and can be swapped with fresh ones easily . Try to encourage folks to be truly conservetive in the use of energy .

Did I miss .... We need to be honest in regard to our errors, set goals, and act accordingly?

How do Republicans define conservative?

(Farmily values? Traditional Values? Religious Values?) ... As I suspected, once again I have the short stick.
