Bobby Jindal

CBS News:

When asked about the future course of the Republican Party following their losses on Election Day - losing not only the White House but also considerable ground in the House and Senate - Gov. Bobby Jindal of Louisiana said it is imperative his party offers solutions to voters, and not just be the opposition.

"As Republicans, we need to do three things to get back on track," he said on CBS' Face The Nation. "Number one, we have got to stop defending the kind of spending and out-of-control spending that we would never tolerate in the other side. You know, when voters tell us that they trust Democrats more to cut their taxes [and] control spending, that tells you something is wrong with the Republican Party. We've got to match our actions with our rhetoric.

If he is a "good cop," he needs to leave the GOP and become a DEM.

Speaking platitudes is worthless when he is willing to hang around
and agree with his fellow Republican creeps/criminals.

Let's see now, Bobby Jindel is the guy who can out believe the believers,
out religion the religious, be more conservative than most conservatives
but not too conservative, out image the image makers, out think the thinkers,
probably out barbecue all the southern barbecuers, appear to be more in every possible
way than all the other phoneys who can never challenge his credibility based
on appearances and image which he manages very very well. Except that
I don't believe a word of it. It does tell you where he comes from, doesn't it.

Bobby Jindal is the man to watch- he oozes competence, intelligence and a remarkable record of achievement- a Rhodes scholar, head of the Louisiana Health Crae system at age 24, Congressman, and now youngest Governor at age 37- Wow ! that is a superb record of achievement.
I suspect that if McCain had picked him- the outcome would have been different.

You know, B J minus the whacky science and religious stuff, could be a great politician. He's smart, intelligent, eloquent, well educated, a real doer, no nonsense. In other words, not like other Republicans. But I guess the whackyness was a stronger bond for him to have chosen to be a Republican. What a waste of a brain.

As a minority... I think the few female and minority people they throw on our TeeVee sets esp" the GOP (Hello Jindal!) are just a "form of purchasing minorities on the cheap"... Condi, check women and minorities in that box (wow! two for the price of one!!), Lawrence Thomas, check black men, Gonzalez, check hispanics... but they forget we are NOT stupid! Putting a clown in office who is NOT even qualified for the job, simply b/c they're a minority does nothing for what they intend to accomplish. They are lost and confused.... We as minorities do not simply need a person that shares our heritage, we want our issues and every American issues addressed! Be they black, white, hispanics, gay, straight, american indian etc....

Something is wrong with GOP.

Nothing that a tested exorcist or anointed demon caster/witch hunter couldn't fix.

Excellent. Jindal reportedly has been tested by Lou Cifer himself.
The Grand Mufti Rev. Muthee can vouch for the sainted Palin.

Republicans spend, spend, spend, and spend some more.

Every time there is a Republican President, we can expect a recession because of overspending.

Oops, there it is....

Jindal has a few internal problems to deal with: Namely, the intellectuals who created the modern conservative move understood 40 years ago that the GOP would always remain the opposition because because it's agenda simply offers nothing for the great majority of Americans. ENter Nixon and the Southern Strategy and the first major wedge issue: He succeeded in cutting the South from the Democratic Party. Along comes Reagan and his clowns; they invite the social conservatives into the party and they manage to get entire segments of society to cut their own economic throats over issues like abortion and later gay marriage. The problem for Jindal and the rest of the conservatives is the same as it was 40 years ago: Take away race and social issues, and the GOP has nothing to offer the typical American family. Americans want government services and if they get efficient and effective services they would be willing to pay for them with taxes. Americans don't necessarily want small government they want effective government. Electing a bunch of bozos who adhere to Gingrich's ideas, who don't believe in government, is counter productive and it helped create the debacle we now face. GOP corruption and malfeasance isn't an outgrowth of anything; it's built into the modern conservative ideology whether they wish to acknowledge it or not.

Psssst.....he thinks he's white. Converted from Hinduism to Catholicism, embraced corporate greed, he's their man.
Just what exactly has this man done for New Orleans???
Will some one please tell me.
The Republicans want the 3 American car companies to file Chapter 11 bankruptcy. They don't get anything out of a bailout, plus, they get to bust the BIG union, the UAW. The GOP has been trying bust the UAW since before Nixon.
They sure didn't mind us walkin' around people to pay the bonuses for Wall St., but, they'll let our American car companies go down the drain. There is nothing in it for them.

You're right....they're blaming the big 3's problems on the unions instead of the CEO that didn't gauge the market correctly. They kept building cars people were not going to be able to afford to drive. They built cars to be obsolete to force you to buy another in 10 years. They weren't made to last on purpose. Management ran the companies into the ground.

The fact that the health insurance companies are draining our businesses is never mentioned by the right either.

Fair enough. But the truth of the matter is that the Republican party does not represent an ideology that is in the best interest of the middle and working classes. As a matter of fact, their ideology is, and has always been, anti-middle and working classes. The only break in that continuum came during the middle of the last century, when Roosevelt created a platform that boxed in the regressive party and forced them to view government as a mechanism to enhance the quality of citizen's lives, as opposed to a view that believed that government was an impedement to the wanton greed of corporations and the financially wealthy.

Any member of the Republican party who is NOT male, white and heterosexual (at least outwardly) is a sadly, confused human being. Bobby Jindal will always be know as the "Republican Obama."
