Bobby Jindal

CBS News:

When asked about the future course of the Republican Party following their losses on Election Day - losing not only the White House but also considerable ground in the House and Senate - Gov. Bobby Jindal of Louisiana said it is imperative his party offers solutions to voters, and not just be the opposition.

"As Republicans, we need to do three things to get back on track," he said on CBS' Face The Nation. "Number one, we have got to stop defending the kind of spending and out-of-control spending that we would never tolerate in the other side. You know, when voters tell us that they trust Democrats more to cut their taxes [and] control spending, that tells you something is wrong with the Republican Party. We've got to match our actions with our rhetoric.

Republicans believe that government can't work - and keep getting elected to prove it.

What a pair of knuckleheads! One is a member of the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse, Jindal along with Huckabee, Palin, and Romney; and the other, Gingrich is El Maximo, Supremo Hipocrita.

They still don't get it.

1) Quit trying to force religious instruction and idolatry down the throats of the population;

2) Quit spending us into oblivion with stupid missions to foreign bung-holes;

3) Quit being for the corporations and not for the people that really need help

This is just a start. Check with me later for solutions.

First clue. Stupidity. You gave Bush a free hand and he spent your great grandchild's money. Second clue. You let K-Street run America. Third clue. You let Wall Street manage themselves. Fourth clue. You thought the Dems were stupid enough to let us be outsmarted by Rove again. Fifth clue. Reaganomics and trickle down have been outed as being a great wealth transfer of immense proportions from middle class to those richest 10%. 6th and last. Sarah Palin VP candidate. Now that's stupid.

If the Republicans get serious and nominate this guy for President, then the Republicans will have truly gone out of touch with the values of their own party and will go the way of the Whigs, because they don't have any candidates worth voting for. What's the point in having a party that will get trounced every election cycle? And what's the point in having a party that doesn't have a clear leader? That's why the Whigs vanished, and the Republicans are heading down that path.

I seriously hope they nominate Jindal for President, there's enough of the Republican base that would vote against him in a heartbeat because he is a virtual clone of Sarah Palin, only more intelligent, but his views are the virtual same. That same Republican base that voted against John McCain because he picked Sarah Palin and neither of them represented true Republican values would vote against this guy in a heartbeat. If the Republicans nominate this guy, it may be the final nail in the c offin for their party.

If Jindal is so great why are the Katrina families still without homes? The nonprofits who've gone in there have done a much better job than any LA beauracrat. Jindal should supercede Nagin's power and set strategic planning in place so NO becomes a better city.

What can be said of a governor who has towns that are failing in his state? SMH...doesn't look good to me at all!!!

This reminds me of a comment by one of this GOP guys saying this morning that they are looking for qualified blacks to run for any seat in two years (in the republican ticket) so they can take back their lost seats. And I thought, Either they are very desperate or they now began to believe in affirmative action.

"Something is wrong with the gop"? Well, if you don't know what 's wrong with the gop by now then you'll never know. May you forever be "baffled" and you'll continue to lose elections.

Did you read the article or just the headline? He gave answers to what is wrong. You will be forever baffled if you just read headlines and skip the actual articles.

I don't know very much about governor Jindal, but the republicans had better find their fiscally
conservative, but socially moderate members, or I think they will be history. Using the Lee
Atwater strategy of using wedge issues as the pathway to power, is I think doomed.

Some here are saying Jindal is smart, while others are saying he favors the teaching of "intelligent design." These are mutually exclusive qualities, so which is it?

Jindal may be charasmatic, but he is NO Barack Obama.

Barack Obama actually has his own ideas that most Americans can connect with, Jindal's ideas are the same as Saran Palin's and George W. Bush's. This guy is nothing more than a gimmick to get minorities to vote Republican which isn't happening because minorities aren't sheep and will vote for ANY minority candidate, just like women didn't end up voting for John McCain just because Sarah Palin was the VP candidate.

If Jindal is the best the GOP has to offer, then Democrats will be in control of the White House for a long time. Even Al Gore and John Kerry could b eat this dude, and they are among the weakest Democrats to run for President.

Neither will Jose or anyone with a nickname containing the word 'dog' in it.. If the Republican's think the surreptitious line of 'people just won't vote for a Black man' was viable, just wait til they try to put forth Jindal. Sorry, GOP, racism really will be a factor if you try floating this balloon.

Never once did Jindal mention #4 the get off the evangelical family values platform. Family values are great but they are not inclusive. The republicans lost this election for a number of reasons and one of them was their ability to exclude large members of the american population and the rancor that went with it. Jindal offers no real solutions if he can't see that.

Jindal offers no solutions PERIOD, his ideas and views are the same as Sarah Palin's and George W. Bush's. He is just more of the status quo to vote against.

Bobby Jindal is a j oke. If you thought the repubs went c razy trying to portray Obama as a c loset M u slim, wait till they get this guy up there... he really does look like one of those Middle Easterners, and wait till you see this man's family dressed up in their r eligious garb...

Jindal is another minority gimmick, the GOP thought that running Palin would get the female vote, now they think they can get minorities to vote for this guy because he has d ark skin... he has no chance of winning.

Jindal? He and Palin think dinasaurs and humans roamed the earth together 6k years ago. If this is honestly the republican"s future and they prevail, what hope have we as a species of confronting the many challenges that we face for survival. If our choice is between the rapture and science and the rapture side wins, we can kiss our asses good by.
