Karl Rove

New York Times:

Do you see the election results as a repudiation of your politics?

Our new president-elect won one and a half points more than George W. Bush won in 2004, and he did so, in great respect, by adopting the methods of the Bush campaign and conducting a vast army of persuasion to identify and get out the vote.

But what about your great dream of creating a permanent Republican governing majority in Washington?

I never said permanent. Durable.

I read the interview and it seems like Rove was pretty testy. He doesn't regret $hit, is still arrogant, and whined about the interviewer hurting his feelings?

Honestly, isn't there a warrant out for Rove's arrest somewhere?

I would not compare Obama's victory to either of Bush's. In 2000 Florida was the battle ground, with a friendly Secretary a State, a friendly Supreme Court, which broke every president in the book and it always pays to have a brother as governor of that state. In 2,000 Bush lost the popular vote and won with Florida's electoral votes. In 2004, once again a one state electoral strategy with a Secretary a State, a single issue religious zealot and Republican campaign chair for Ohio, practiced every voter suppression technique he could think up. In both cases Bush won by 1% and one state's electoral college vote. By contrast Obama's election was a landslide, he carried nine Bush states, and enjoyed higher majorities even in states he lost. If you look at the district by district map the only red on it is in the middle of the deep South. The Republican party once again lost seats in places they shouldn't have, making them not only a minority party, but a regional minority party. Rove just can't stop spinning, his 15 mins is over.

Oh yeah, one more thing. That was quite an insult thrown Biden's way.
Rove should know that Biden's appeal lies mainly in how SECURE he is in his intellect and himself.

What is repellent about Rove is, he is threatened easily. He was threatened by Cheryl Crow asking him a question, for heck's sake.

I'm not defensive. You're defensive.

This guy......
The world is a better place without Saddam Hussein; The world is a better place without Saddam Hussein; The world is a better place without Saddam Hussein The world is a better place without Saddam Hussein;Hussein; The world is a better place without Saddam Hussein.

That is the all purpose answer. F'd up war? The world is a better place without Saddam Hussein.
F'd up economy? The world is a better place without Saddam Hussein.
Wire tapped citizens? The world is a better place without Sadam Huassein.

Karl Rove ended the interview petulantly, whining about his "hurt feelings " caused by the interveiwer, telling her he had taped it and would send her the transcript to prove his point.

This is a man who spent his entire life and our national treasury trying to make up for something that happened to him in 7th grade.

Time to grow up Karl, and get a real job!

The world will be a far better place when republicans people like Karl Rove are seen for what they are by those they would seek to manipulate.

I think I speak for a lot of people when I say that Karl Rove is one of the most corrupt,
dishonest and despicable characters in the history of United States government.

Over 40,500 people have already signed this!

Rep. Kucinich of Ohio had this to say on CNN:

PT6, thank you for the links - very informative and I signed the petition. To me, this MUST BE the first priority before this administration and their co-conspirators slip out the side door.

If I had been an editor of the NY Times, I would have told the reporter to go back and try again.

Otherwise, the (non) interview goes in the non-news round file.

I would love to see the stuff the interviewer edited out. If the answers that were eventually published in this "interview" were the creme de la creme of Rovian rhetoric, can you imagine the crap that ended up in the toilet?

To paraphrase Matthew Broderick as Ferris Buehler at the end of "Ferris Buehler's Day Off": "Why are you still here? It's over, go home."

Every one of his answers sounded like a slogan... perhaps he's not capable of an extended thought process. "GOP good! Democrats bad!" Ugh. Am hoping for indictments in a couple of months.
