Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) is batting down the hype that Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin heads into 2012 as the frontrunner for the GOP presidential nomination.

Palin energized the Republican base after GOP presidential nominee Sen. John McCain (Ariz.) tapped her as his running mate and she has tried to preserve her high public profile since Election Day.

What is to become of the Republican party, really. Something major has happened to their reality.

Among the grim statistics:
• Alaska's dropout rate, at 8 percent, was double the national average in the 2005-2006 school year, according to the latest figures available from the U.S. Department of Education.
• 38 percent of today's ninth-graders will have no high school diploma 10 years from now, according to the Alaska Commission on Postsecondary Education.
• Alaska ranks 50th, or last, in the number of ninth-graders who will likely have a bachelor's degree in 10 years, according to the commission.

Just as well they have a role-model governor who is dedicated to the education of her own children - oh wait: Her eldest son has a history of vandalism and was given a GED on the way to Iraq; her oldest daughter was removed from high school for a mysterious length of time last year and is now about to have a baby

The bad news is, Palin could win the 2012 Presidential election. The good news is, according to the Mayan calendar, the world will end before she can take office....

As many of us are well aware, much of the genetic potential we are born with is lying dormant within us, waiting to be turned on. The world will not end but a new way of thinking will emerge.

From cataclysm to enlightenment, world war to world peace, massive earth changes and physical destruction, to massive spiritual awakening to our inherent oneness, there are many views of the implications of the approaching year 2012 and beyond.

One thing is clear - we are right in the thick of this critical, transformative period!

As this date approaches, we are collectively in a transition phase of the old world dying and a new world being born. Hence Obama appearing on the national stage.

And as much as I would like it not to be so, un-fortunately Palin does play a pivotal role. Which is why she must at all cost not be allowed to gain to much power, referencing her followers/­whorshiper­s.

That all, no biggie. Please don't be frighten but please pay attention to everything that is "now" unfolding right before our very eyes.

It's very easy to govern Alaska when oil prices are in a record setting high bubble.

The bubble has burst.

Experts say oil needs to be in the mid $70 a barrel range in order for Alaska to balance it's budget.

Those same experts predict $50 a barrel is here for awhile.

Either she cuts services, raises taxes or comes to Washington with her hand out.
