Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) is batting down the hype that Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin heads into 2012 as the frontrunner for the GOP presidential nomination.

Palin energized the Republican base after GOP presidential nominee Sen. John McCain (Ariz.) tapped her as his running mate and she has tried to preserve her high public profile since Election Day.

By Newt's definition, Sarah has him beat on qualifications. He taught history before serving in Congress. Wow, and to think he actually considered running for President when he's never run anything. Never mind the fact that he's been married three times. It amazes me how supposedly educated people defend Sarah Palin's "resume", insisting she's more qualified than Obama. No offense to Alaska, but it strikes me that you wouldn't have to be the sharpest tool in the shed to get very far in that state. Palin has gotten by largely on looks and personality all her life, because it clearly wasn't on her intellect.

Look it up at Alaska Daily News...they have a report about that very thing...most of their kinds statring school don't even know their colors or can not read.

Sarah should take all that money she keeps socialising back to the people and put it into better education for her people.

No it isn't.

Sarah used her sexuality on the campaign trail, but that was her choice and I don't think you can turn around and holler "sexism!" when it didn't work out.

What this is is a candidate who would probably be hardpressed to pass a highschool equivilancy test, who has no interest in national affairs outside of Alaska, and no interest in international policy, thinking that if she bluffs well, double speaks her way through a question and answer session, and creates a bubbly persona for the cameras that it equals real credentials. You can add to that that she thinks if the crowd is roaring for her that is a positive - even if she accomplishes that by inflaming hatred to the point that the secret service is now operating on high speed to keep up with all the threats against the President-elect. So she doesn't even have the moral fiber needed in a leader.

I'm Independent. I will never vote again for Republican anything, even downticket, as long as they threaten me with the possibility of Palin in 2012. If that's their standard, I want nothing to do with their party. I applaud anybody who is trying to put her in her place. Not because she's a woman. Because she's a mean spirited incompetent.
