Think Progress:

In 2006, Media Matters conducted a study on Sunday political talk shows, finding that "Republicans and conservatives have been offered more opportunities to appear on the Sunday shows -- in some cases, dramatically so." From 2001 to 2005, conservative guests outnumbered progressives "by 58 percent to 42 percent." Atrios notes that tomorrow's shows will also be dominated by conservative guests:

The conservative pundits are available on Sunday morning as they dont have much of a social life. The liberal pundits are out having a good time Saturday and are sleeping in. Poor Republicans wouldnt know a good time it it walked up and bit them on the arse.

... deafening. Oops, cut that word off.

George Will, your dissonance is deafening.

Expect this right-leaning nonsense for the next few years, as the generally right-leaning MSM take it upon themselves to effect their "fake balance" anti-dote to an Obama Presidency, with no sense of shame that they gave the entire Bush Presidency a seven year, multiple body-count cheer (until Obama voters gave them the right time of day!)

The corporately run Republican influenced media has the same agenda as the Republican Party, tax cuts for their wealthy investors/sponsors and no regulation. They get a two for one when they allow themselves to be brandished as "liberal" so that any positive remark said about the Democratic challenger is seen biased, and they then are free to show more favorable coverage to the Republican candidate.

The media is a tool for white collar criminals.

We need more shows like Olbermann, and more channels that present the truth. Isn't there anyone who can buy/start another channel?

Fox news is the political talk scene's version of NASCAR or WWF.

Well, they'll have plenty of time to whine and try to bring the Democrats down. They have no solutions and are therefore part of the problem.

We are no longer in an era of realistically reducing the size of government. To get out of this mess they put us in with their profligate deficit spending, the new government will have to spend trillions to stimulate an economic recovery. I think things will get worse before it gets better.

Yet, all you hear them spout is lower taxes on the wealthy so jobs will be created. What palaver. Reaganomics is dead, ironically killed by members of his party.

Due to the irresponsibility of the Republicans while in power, we'll now need a new version of the New Deal, massive projects to refurbish our infrastructure and begin development of alternative energy sources in order to create the kind of numbers of jobs that we'll need to get out of this depression. And guess who will fight that tooth and nail? The very people who got us into this mess.

Only in America.......

Look mommy, the people who own the tv stations are reporting about themselves.

Sad really.

Has anyone noticed that all media relevancy has shifted to the net?
Glad I don't own a f**king lame a.s.s.ed tv network.

The most interesting and enlightening discussion on Sunday morning has been on Fareed Zakaria: GPS on CNN. Much more worthwhile than watching the same old politicians on Face the Nation, This Week, Meet the Press, Late Edition or Fox News Sunday. This morning Fareed Zakaria had the State Department's Nicholas Burns square off against NYU's Professor Stephen Cohen discussing the current state of relations with Russia, Europe and the US. Cohen reminded Burns that one of the most important skills of a diplomat is to be able to see a disputed situation from not just your own country's perspective, but also your adversary's. Cohen had a very interesting explanation of the current Russian government perspective, and why US advocacy of continued NATO expansion is needlessly and recklessly provoking Russia into a very defensive posture. Burns seemed nearly speechless and could only reiterate the US-centric perspective that says the Russians are behaving irrationally. Burns said Russia should be worried about Iran gaining nuclear weapons because they shared a border. Even Zakaria pointed out that Russia is much less concerned about alleged Iranian nuclear weapons ambitions than the US is.
