Focus On The Family Faces Massive Layoffs After Prop 8 Push

Focus on the Family is poised to announce major layoffs to its Colorado Springs-based ministry and media empire today. The cutbacks come just weeks after the group pumped more than half a million dollars into the successful effort to pass a gay-marriage ban in California.

Critics are holding up the layoffs, which come just two months after the organization's last round of dismissals, as a sad commentary on the true priorities of ministry.

Don't be too happy about this. Yeah it's great that they're going down, but the people who are being laid off probably had very little to do with Prop 8. The leaders and staff who pushed this issue will be well taken care of I'm sure.

Yes and with the Faith Based Intiative, I'm sure they'll replenish what they've lost. This is the one concern I had about Obama wanting to keep the program going.

Last time I looked most of us come from families. So what kind of family is this group zooming in on? Oh probably their idea of family and how it should be imposed upon the rest of the world. Well well well... you learn something new on Huffpo everday. This article led me to a link to The Council on National Policy, a secretive group that I suspected existed but includes their top members. Many who were appointed to cabinet positions by Bush. Something I am going to keep my eye on repeatedly since Prop 8 passed here in CA.
