Washington Times :

Rep. Eric Cantor of Virginia, poised to ascend to House Republicans' No. 2 leader this week, said the Republican Party in Washington is no longer "relevant" to voters and must stop simply espousing principles. Instead, it must craft real solutions to health care and the economy.

"Where we have really fallen down is, we have lacked the ability to be relevant to people's lives. Let's set aside the last eight years, and our falling down in living up to expectations of what we said we were going to do," Mr. Cantor told The Washington Times in his district office outside of Richmond. "It's the relevancy question."

...when the 28-year mission is to "cull the herd", even sheep learn to fight back.

Incoming House GOP Leader: My Party Is No Longer "Relevant" YOU'RE DAMN RIGHT! Republicans have been an embarrassment to this country and have destroyed our credibility throughout the world. I hope this nightmare is finally over at - least for the next four to six presidential terms (16 to 24 years). America needs 'Real Leadership' again.

The GOP has worked themselves out of a job by presiding over the largest wealth distribution (upwards) in history over the last 20+ years. The more the middle class suffers from this shift, the more the Democrats and their offers of solutions will prevail.

We Hate! We Hate! We Hate! Don't you want to vote for us? You like to hate, we like to hate. Obama's policies may very well help you but wouldn't you rather hate? The Party need you, please don't be fooled by competence and inclusiveness. Hate Baby Hate!

The GOP is the party of the past . They don't stand for anything that is of interest to people .And their all jerks like this guy and Palin. Thats pretty scary. they are part of the problem and don't even know it or smart enough to acknowledge it

I remember when Eric Cantor got smoked on Hardball by Chris Matthews. He's a punk masquerading as a politician. He's the one who's irrelevant. He's just a waterboy for the far right...nothing more.

Hey Eric, don't forget about 9/11. Nobody wants to say anything but EVERYBODY KNOWS there were no terrorist flying those planes/missiles into the Towers and the Pentagon. If that were the case why did every single piece of evidence from the Twin Towers vanish? Why did New York destroy all the evidence? You never, under any circumstances destroy the evidence of the most horrific crime of the century...ever! It should still be an on-going investigation! We are like sheep being led to the slaughter. It is our right to question the Bush/Cheney/Rumsfled administration to include that do-nothing Rice. Bush should have been impeached and nobody did anything! And Rumsfeld ran...resigned and went AWOL from the public. Now Bush and Cheney are going to get away with mass murder and nobody's going to do anything - not even Pelosi. Americans have no right to complain if we can't police up our own crap!

Eric, I think you might imagine retiring most of the republicans presently in office and recreating a party based on concern for the diverse human population of the US...in other words, a radical consciousness change from myopic and mean-spiritedness that has manifested for the past 8 years..a preference for the survival of the elite needs to be transcended into a preference for the survival and prosperity of every American citizen of all colors, all religions, all ethnicities, all philosophies. The contraction of the heart is not a pretty sight in this world...human life is so brief and it seems to me that part of our role in this world is to expand our minds, our consciousness, and most of all our hearts for our fellow man. Only with this kind of change can you imagine a republican party that has any significance in the overall design of this era, this earth, this universe.

This is why Obama is our leader and his model of insight and brilliance will be in the American and international memory forever. Remember, we are all part of this...what we think, how we act, how we improve our own selves...will help turn our nation around to a much better time. That we are a profoundly important metaphor for the entire world is breathtaking but inspiring.

Well said dlo2!

Cooperation + Tolerance = Peace

Pres. Elect Obama allows for this equation more so than the Republican agenda. We are in a 'Zero Point' to enact real change...a paradigm shift. Or, this planet doesn't stand a chance.

Let's do it!!

Republicans are irrelevant because:

--they ask us to elect people to govern who believe government is a bad thing and want to get rid of government.
--they want to legislate against the sexuality of human beings.
--they want to legislate against how we manage our own reproductive systems.
--they want to legislate against science and replace it with their religious beliefs.

In other words, they would rather control our private lives than govern our country.

When I think back to the campaign period images of McCain singing Bomb Bomb Iran, praising and gloating over his cynical and absurd pick of the former beauty pageant Governor for VP.....all the inane Joe the Plumber Lines, who loves America most. blah blah blah.

When I think back to the GOP campaign I think of noisy stupid clowns running for the highest offices.

Eric Cantor has voted with a majority of his Republican colleagues and George Bush 92.6% of the time during the current Congress. He Vote No just on these few importants bills..
1, Bill would allow the government to negotiate directly with drugmakers for lower prescription drug prices for individuals using Medicare.
2. Bill would lower the interest rate on student loans
3. Bill would increase the federal minimum wage
5.Bill would repeal tax cuts to oil companies
6. Bill would require the president to begin reducing the number of U.S. troops serving in Iraq
7.Bill on State Children's Health Insurance Program.
No wonder his party is no longer relevant.......
