It looks like Barack Obama has offered Hillary Clinton the post of Secretary of State and she's mulling over whether to take the job or not. Obama's apparent offer makes him look magnanimous and delights Hillary Clinton's former backers, so maybe it's smart politics. But there are a number of good reasons why Clinton should not be secretary of state. Here are five.

Actually everyone should be asking why does he want her...she's not going to run over that man. he's not a lunch bucket. He doesn't suffer fools. He's isn't one that forgets and forgives...he has a plan. She will have to work for him no matter what the media says. and HE CAN FIRE HER. moreover she had to turn over everything...everything that she wouldn't do before....there's so much more to this. On a clear day I can see forever...

Unassailable reasoning. Look for major neocons praising and endorsing Hillary.

Hillary is so over Secretary of State, and after a new position: Commissioner of the Bureau of Mutant Affairs.

Bill Richardson would be my first pick. I like Hillary more on domestic policy, don"t really see her as international negotiator and I could see her trying to forward her own limelight and interests over the administrations¦¦. She just strikes me as the wrong personality for the job. Richardson comes across as strong, firm and disciplined. If I had Obama"s cell I would call and give my opinion. Keep Hillary in the Senate, she is more valuable in that role imho.

Ken, your article details absolutely nothing regarding how you came to any of these conclusions. Look, I agree that the Clintons can be wreckless, however, your still have to argue your point, and you didn't even make an attempt. How long did that take you to write, about 5 minutes?

If you want to predict the future behavior of anyone, check out their past behavior.
This man's predictions are spot on.

HRC andHubby are masters of the political back room deals. But is that change?

Ken all your article says to me is that you believe that Obama is so weak that he wouldn't be able to control his staff.

You appear to be just another Clinton hater who doesn't have any faith in Obama's leadership.

WHAT A SHAME

Clinton is totally unqualified to be Se of state. Her comments about "obliterating" Iran top the list of her servile subservience to AIPAC. Her inability to manage her own campaign says volumes about her executive ability.

If she goes in the cabinet, some domestic function would be better.

Did I miss the day Andrea Mitchel became the paid staff spokesperson for P.E. Obama !??

I couldn't agree more ! However, I'll wait for P.E.Obama's choice announcement ! I just don't believe this same MSM pundit hype of who's zoomin' who, it's just oh so familiar !

That is a typical Hillary-for-anything-she-wants reaction. Frankly she is not qualified to be a Supreme Court Justice. Check her record. She was a poor law student, has been reprimanded for ethical violations, has never served in any capacity requiring SC Justice v alues and skills.
Hillary would be a bad justice.
She would be another disaster as SoS, too. Clintonmania is just another Neocon promoted sickness. (Her supporters in the primary: Murdock and Scaife, her promoter for SoS:Kissinger) I think that should tell us something.
Bill Clinton was not a bad president, but he was not a great one either! And all Hillary has ever done is ride his record! She did not deserve the Senate post she has. And her one big effort (the failed health care program) showed how she working behind closed doors weith all the special interests involved -- just the opposite of what we need and want! As for her foreign policy credentials, there is her silly (if not outright evil) threat to obliterate Iran!
I suggest she be made ambassador to Bosnia!!

All great points.

We liberal democrats worked hard during the primary season to reject the foreign policy of Hillary and Bush.

Hillary represents the Lieberman, Bush, Cheney policies, aggressive action in the Middle East and Bully diplomacy, which means, never talking to countries unless they agree to our terms before any meetings.

I trust Obama implicitly and will support anyone he selects, but I would prefer someone at the State Dept who agrees with his foreign policy and does not have to compromise or conform to our new presidents approach.

Save Hillary for the Supreme Court and leave the controversial dynamic duo out of the executive branch.

She is not qualified to be SOS, nor is she qualified for the supreme court.

As sec. of state she'll have her own foreign policy agenda and will not follow BO's plans. The whole thing is uncomfortable to me. Don't like the thought of her in that job. Give her something else for pete's sake.

your five reasons are basically two: Bill and Kissinger.
Considering these 2 points:

since when has a past successfull Presidency turned into the political equivalent of the Scarlet Letter ?
you may distrust Kissinger but he is a foreign policy heavy weight.
