Palin Book Deal Said To Be Worth $7 Million

She failed to save John McCain from presidential election doom, but Sarah Palin, the Republican senator's controversial running mate, may yet emerge as the saviour of the American publishing industry. Literary agents are queueing up to sign her to a book deal that could earn her up to $7m.

With Barack Obama's election victory certain to generate dozens of volumes from politicians, strategists and journalists - and with another shelfload of memoirs expected from members of President George W Bush's administration - Palin's personal account of her tumultuous introduction to national politics is widely regarded as the book most likely to repay a multi-million-dollar advance.

"She's poised to make a ton of money," said Howard Rubenstein, New York's best-known public relations adviser.

No one is afraid of an attractive woman executive. We;re just appalled that someone so ignorant can even get a job, let alone be a governor or vp candidate. Clearly someone is going to write a book and put her photo on it. Who will buy it is the interesting part. What a waste of money, paper and time.

If you look (objectively) at how the press and the Huffington Post pounced on Governor Palin each time she misspoke and compare that to Obama or Biden, you will see a great disparity. If she stated that "I've been to 57 states so far", referred to the POTUS as the Commander and Chief, claimed that FDR went on TV when the market crashed, asked a paraplegiac to stand up, calling Barack Obama the first clean and articulate black candidate, not knowing how to salute during the National Anthem, etc., would an issue be made out of those. No. But when Biden or Obama misspeak, it's excusable. Hypocrites.

This woman can't string a single, coherent sentence together, and she's being offered tons of money to write a book??? Why, oh why do we continue to encourage, celebrate and reward the stupid in this country? WHY?!?!

As far as planning to write a book, there, it's important to realize that the State of Alaska offers so many opportunities for, you know, the kind of writing that is important to that State, and our country, and the economy, and also for the Joe Sixpacks and hockey moms who would read the book and say "Hey, wait a minute - that's me, also, in that book there!"

Look for the book - if there is one - to come out after 2012, when it has been completely rewritten three times for syntax and grammar (each time at least two editors' heads explode) and vetted by schools of lawyers for copyright infringement and libel claims.

But wait - haven't we already seen the movie? Also?

The thing that sickens me about the vast majority of politicians...is that while claiming to be public servants....they mostly serve themselves....They are simply not good citizens....and yet they see themselves as entitled to rule....and WE who are good citizens should not contribute to their riches by purchasing their books....It is that very mentality that Palin/McCain banked on during the campaign...they see the masses as ignorant and gullible.......If Palin can make 7 million from a book....that proves them right !!
