Jolie

Actress Angelina Jolie welled up with tears as she talked about her late mother at a press conference for her new film 'Changeling' in London on Monday, even cursing as she welled up (the word "fuck" is muted in the video below). Her mom Marcheline died of cancer early last year.

'We used to call her Marshmallow, as a joke, because she was just the softest, most gentle woman in the world.

'She was really sweet and was never angry - she couldn't swear to save her life. But when it came to her kids, she was really fierce and so this (film) is very much her, her story.

'She was the woman I related to, who had that elegance and strength for knowing what was right.'

I cry whenever I see Jon Voight in a movie. He's just horrible.

I know how she feels. My own mom's been gone for four years but I still well up sometimes. Angelina's loss is still in the "fresh" stages. My heart goes out to her.

You say she's in the "fresh" stage;I say she's in the publicity stage. Come to think of it those are two things Angelina cannot do without--publicity and a stage.

I pray Angelina's mother-in-law will not nag her this Thanksgiving, and be thankfull she has such a wonderfully humane daughter-in-law.

Angelina does not have a mother-in-law. She is not married to Brad Pitt.

In America, there is strange continuum between fantasy and reality. However, Angela Jolie is real. I like here. Her mother was a French Canadian and here mother was also half First Nations people[Native Canadian].

I thought the same as I watched this video -

As time goes by, Angelina gets more and more beautiful in so many ways

I think she's the most exquisite woman in the world

I lost my mother in 1986 and can still cry about her and laugh when I think of just funny little things and then cry because I miss the funny little things. If we're blessed enough to have a mother [or father] we love, when they're gone we can be blessed to always remember and cry in joy and sadness and no one should ever question it.

I lost my mom and I still miss her every single day. It's still painful for Angie.

Heavens. Losing a parent is a terrible experience (I've lost one). Have an ounce of humanity and respect the pain of someone who has lost a parent.

Well, of course she would cry! I was just scrolling down the home page of HP and saw this headline......I can't believe this is news. Leave her alone. And, I cry also, at the mention of my father who passed away 3 months ago.

My mother died on Sept. 11, and while I never cared for Jolie, my heart goes out to her here.

I applaud her for even trying to talk about her mother in front of camera.

My condolences - I lost my father-in-law - it'll be a year November 27.
While it's no where near the pain that you have gone through - I know what my husband has gone through and even though I met him only a few times - those moments were very precious to me, and my husband.
I feel him with us a lot.

Is this the mother who was betrayed and cheated on by her husband who had plenty of affairs - enough to damage AJolie?

yes....unfortunately. She sounds like a lovely woman - he really hasn't grown up since then. Although I believe she has forgiven him.

I think she and Brad are fantastic. Check out the documentary titled Wardance about refugee children in Uganda. Yes, Brad produced it. These two do more in a day for their fellow man than most of us do in a lifetime. He's built homes in New Orleans for those that lost them in Katrina. She gives a third of her pay from her movies to charities. She is entitled to be emotional about someone she loved very much. You haters need to be posting on sarah palin's website, maybe you can spare some coin to help her raise her grandchild Trig, after all you exemplify the republican creed of selfishness and hatred. She is incredibly beautiful, inside and out. I saw The Changeling and though I wasn't that thrilled with it, she is a first rate human being.

As someone who has lost their mother much too early (my mom was 53, I was 30 at the time) I understand her welling up as I almost always do when describing the kind of person my mom was. When talking about them as a person especially when you are a parent yourself you can't help it. I 'm sure she wishes (as I do) that her mother lived to see her with her children. I salute you Angelina for even talking about your mother in public as I often break down when talking about my own mother. Not only is she a great humanitarian but the effort given by her and Mr. Pitt and their foundation in N.O. outshines even the gov't's effort.
