Angelina Cries Talking About Late Mother (VIDEO)

Actress Angelina Jolie welled up with tears as she talked about her late mother at a press conference for her new film 'Changeling' in London on Monday, even cursing as she welled up (the word "fuck" is muted in the video below). Her mom Marcheline died of cancer early last year.

'We used to call her Marshmallow, as a joke, because she was just the softest, most gentle woman in the world.

'She was really sweet and was never angry - she couldn't swear to save her life. But when it came to her kids, she was really fierce and so this (film) is very much her, her story.

'She was the woman I related to, who had that elegance and strength for knowing what was right.'

I'm amazed at the mean-spirited comments posted about this interview with Angelina Jolie. The interesting thing is that most of the real evil ones seem to be coming from women! Why is that? What is up with women being so hateful towards one another?

I understand Sarah Palin made it seem OK to be a woman-hating woman. Her sudden appearance and obvious loathing of women brought the issue of women hating women into the national social conversation. It doesn't make it right. She is NOT a role model.

If you want a role model of a kind-spirited woman I think Angelina Jolie is a great example. She has done more for AIDS victims and to end malnutrition and general suffering in 3rd world countries than any of us could ever dream of.

No need for YOU to take aim with "the first stone", I am sure she would be the first to admit she is not perfect. SO put the stone down and look in the mirror.

She clearly loves her children and she clearly knows how she has been lucky in life. I've never really been a Jolie fan but I have to say The Changeling was phenomenal. On top of that it is nearly DAILY that Jolie and Pitt are in the news for their humanitarian endeavors. I'm THANKFUL FOR THEM.

Angelina and Brad are two of the few celebrities using their fame for good. Can't anyone let that stand for what it is? For those of you spewing hatred towards her, turn those words in on yourself and see if they fit. Ask yourself if you actually know this woman, have spent time with her. Ask if you have watched her raise her children. Ask yourself if you know her as well as you know yourself. If you answered no to most or all of those, shut up and start improving yourself and your community instead of wasting time bashing someone who works to make a difference around the globe.

All people in the entertainment manipulate the public perception of their image -- it's part of business -- but some are less ethical than others and Ms. Voight has shown a contempt for her fans by blathering lies. I feel sorry for anyone's grief at their loss over their mother, but Ms. Voight is an actor and she obviously is using her mother's death to manipulate her image with the public.
