Johnny Depp

With curly red hair sticking out from his quirky hat, a ghostly pallor and bohemian Victorian clothes, Johnny Depp is unrecognizable in his latest role.

The chameleon Hollywood actor is, once again, transforming his good looks for his upcoming role as the Mad Hatter in Alice In Wonderland.

The 45-year-old star is playing a darker version of the tea-drinking hat maker in Tim Burton's upcoming remake of the Lewis Carroll classic.

And this picture is being touted as the first glimpse of the actor in the role.

I cringe at the thought of Tim Burton butchering Lewis Carroll. This hack's never had an original idea in his life.

Whaaaat? Are you kidding me? The Nightmare Before Christmas, Big Fish, Mars Attacks. If you want to say he hasn't written anything original, neither have any successful directors. So don't go dissin' Tim Burton just because you don't want to see another Alice in Wonderland, this movie is going to be great. Another thing is Disney asked Tim Burton to direct it, he is definitely not a "Hack".

I like Johnny, but we've seen all this before. Nothing new here.

Unrecognizable? Nah, it doesn't even look all that different than some other things he has done. Cool, yes. Unrecognizable, not at all.

Johnny Baby drop all the disguises. Hook up with a roll without any bells or whistles. We've seen you act before minus the gimmicks. Do something deep , human and meaningful. No chocolate, pirate costumes,no dark shadowed eyes or blades for hands. You're overdue. Yeah and make it closer to mainstream. Love you Babe!

I read that he likes parts like these and does not like doing "normal" roles.

Ok, how about What's Eating Gilbert Grape? No disguises, and it's definitely meaningful. And if you didn't have disguises in movies, there would be a lot of boring films out there..

This is just silly! Hollywood chameleon??? He doesn't look any different han he di in his roles as Edward Scissorhands, Willy Wonka, Sweeney Todd, Ichabod Crane, etc...

He looks the same in every movie...especially all the self-indulgent Burton movies...white face, blackened eyes, etc...

too bad, he can be a very good actor if he wnats to be, but he also clearly resent his celebrity and chooses shallow blockbusters.

I have always thought 'Alice in wonderland' was the scariest story out there... and now these guys are about to make it even scarier.

Love, love, love Johnny Depp.
He really is a wonderful actor and a joy to watch.

Sexiest Man alive?
He has my vote.
Even in his Pirates makeup and character he is sexy and appealing- If a guy can look "hot" in that get up he really has it going on.
lol

YUMMY.
That being said I do wish he would do something contemporary again if only to see his natural beauty.
;-)

He is just great. He does a lot of "charity" visits dressed in the character's he plays and bring joy to a lot of sick children. Keep up the good work John.

How many films can you name where Johnny wears an entirely normal pair of trousers?

Still love him though.

You've got a national treasure there, take care of him.
