there are too many laws as it is. If I own a resturant and I want to permit smoking in it why can't my customers decide if I made a good decision? No one is forced to visit my business and if I chose wrong then I will go out of business. If I stay in business then clearly my customers are willing to put up with the smoke to get my product or service.

no one is forced to work for me. If I want to permit smoking in the office and a prospective employee doesn't care for the smoke they don't have to work for me. There isn't a single town in the country that has only one employer.

The price of the packs has a lot to do with it too. Raise the price and people give it up. KY has no tax on cigarettes and the price is 2.99.

Young nurses don't believe me when I tell them that patients use to smoke in their rooms and babies could go down in the smoking lounge with their moms.
Remember smoking on planes?
People get cranky and then they adjust and get use to it.

interesting. would be fun to see those stats compared with other numbers involving education level and weather patterns and lifestyle habits.

With a few notable exceptions, this map shows a strong correlation with the one showing which counties became more Republican this year.
