I Like ItI Don’t Like It

The Daily Beast founder and editor-in-chief Tina Brown appeared on "The Rachel Maddow Show" (guest-hosted by Alison Stewart, wife of executive producer Bill Wolff) Tuesday night. Brown's segment was focused on the 62 days remaining in the Bush presidency, and she did not mince words in dissecting the lame duck.

"One of the things that I'm told at the moment is that Bush is entirely focused right now on his legacy, on his library," she said. "That's all he really wants to talk about is his library. Because he's trying to build a legacy. But quite honestly, one can only think that that library is a Halloween House of Horrors. From the Guantanamo room to the Abu Ghraib room to the Hurricane Katrina room, this is going to be a very interesting library when it is built."

Brown also said that Bush's presidency has had "so many disasters" that, unlike previous lame duck Presidents, he is not "looking back in a mellow fashion on his Presidency, or even feeling that he has busy things to do so much as a President who is kind of punch-drunk with a series of debacles which even he — in his great denial and refusal to accept his own failures — has to accept at this point has been a chapter of hideous accidents, if you want to be charitable about it."

Watch:

Before Tina went up to 30 Rock, she celebrated the launch of The Daily Beast at New York's Pop Burger (she ducked out at 8:41 PM, says the New York Observer's John Koblin). Read his party report here.

His library won't be nearly as fun as the Clinton Library and Massage Parlor with the special cigar and beret wing.

Well, Tomfl78 - the Chicago Tribune reported today that there weren't enough Secret Service to protect Obama's comings and goings in Chicago and they need the assistance of the Police Department. Also, before the election, the Obamas were told by the Secret Service that there had been a dramatic increase in threats - after the Palin rallies. Currently the Secret Service is investigating a rash of threats across the nation and have seen a huge increase in "chatter" - but they won't give statistics - as that would be a breach of security. So - I can not "prove" to you in the "scientific" sense that the Secret Service is working overtime, I can only draw that conclusion from their reporting and the reporting that supports the same conclusion.

While FAUX God may have told W to invade Iraq, it is cerrtainly the Devil Satan himself that is behind W's Little Shop of Horrors Library where all books are written about death, destruction and inhumanity. It may be too scary for Halloween.

Hmmmm...wondering if Madame Tusseauds will do the "wax figures". Also, don't forget, you will receive a free copy of the only known book he read while in office "My Pet Goat".

How disgusting to even name a library after the worst president ever! What a waste of money and I
hope no one will ever set foot in that place. Beware, a bad omen will fall over you if you do!

Not worry -- the Bush library will just be a shelf or two in the Crawford public library next to the radiator that doesn't work.

The USA was last attacked just now: every second Bush (+Cheney and the whole gang ) "deliberates its strategery" he (them) attacks and destroys a piece of America values: its constitution, its values, its people, its land .
E.G. look at the recent attack on the Grand Canyon with push for Uranium mining-again- right on its rim with inevitable pollution of the Colorado looming -again- etc etc.
Having Uranium (a weapon of mass destruction ) in the lungs and water is an "attack" when its called dirty bomb but is also an "attack" when is leaking into the Colorado and flying into your lungs from the Uranium mine tailings because of the wholesale to corporate greed and idiocy of our leaders.
Attacks? look around you.

Won't a memorial to all the dead soldiers be enough to remind us of Bush for centuries?

Perhaps they should put an "Arlington Cemetary" of Iraq war dead next to the library - for this is Bush's legacy.

The Bush Libary will have an awesome section demoted to Nucular Non-Profligation. And computer games and mountain bike periodications. And a section dedicated to Ohio voting machine technologies.

Oh, and there'll be conference rooms that all smell like farts. Tina Brown should come just for that there.

Hmmm, I think the only library he should be connected with, is the one he would be allowed to visit once a week when they let him out of his cell at Levenworth. Mr. Bush, Mr. Cheney and Mr. Rumsfeld would get to fight it out over who would be the cell "bitch". Why would he want a library when he doesn't believe in things like book learnin'. I feel sorry for his wife, life is hard when you're married to an idiot.

Could we actually do that?! Raise money to build a REAL Bush Library -- illuminating all the failures and astrocities of the last eight years?! I'd contribute to THAT!

It's already been tried. The George W. Bush Sewage Processing Facility naming was on the ballot in San Francisco but was rejected because voters realized it was too much of an honor and would require the expense of changing the letterhead.

I also hear talk of W setting up a "Think Tank". A Think Tank???? Is this the ultimate oxymoron or what?

They've got a brief to think about why he tanked.
