Bill Clinton: "I'll Do Whatever They Want"

The New York Observer reports:

Bill Clinton said he'd do "whatever they want" with respect to the vetting process and information he'd have to disclose to the Obama administration to help Hillary Clinton become Obama's secretary of state.

Standing on stage and signing autographs after a ceremony to rename the Triborough Bridge after the late Robert F. Kennedy, Clinton was asked about the vetting process.

"Whatever they want. This is a deal between Senator--" he corrected himself, "President-elect [Obama] and Hillary," Clinton said. "You should talk to them. I'll do whatever they want."

That jibes with reports this morning that the former President had offered "several concessions" as part of the vetting process.

So the MSN was going on and on last night about how Clinton needs to retire her 7.9 million debt to vendors (this is what is left after her own money had been put in) because after she is selected and accepts State job she cannot do any fund raising on her campaign's behalf.
My question where are all the supposed PUMAS, cause all it would take is about 500,000 of her 18 million voters to chip in $20 and it would be a done deal.
And I have done this even tho Obama was my choice, because the campaign asked me to. Go to it Dem's for Clinton. Retire her debt now!

I for one don't have an extra $20 for her debt, but then I'm not one of the PUMA's. I donated what I could for Obama but I'll be DAMNED if I help pay off her debt. Even if I had voted for her and contributed to her instead of Obama, I wouldn't. Her campaign was so mis-managed. And she kept going even tho' it would have taken a MIRACLE for her to win - all while she was millions in debt.

I don't hate Bill Clinton. I voted for him twice. But what bothers me the most about Sen Clinton being SOS is her husband's dealing with foreign countries, specifically Saudi Arabia for one. The royal family donated $10M to his library. This is a country that publicly beheads people. I just find this disgusting and it is a huge conflict of interest for her. Does he give the money back so that there are no conflicts for her?

Now in retrospect it's clear there was really no competition between Hillary, Richardson, and Kerry. Hillary -- for better or worse -- is the better candidate by far.

Hillary is the most needy. And Obama seems intent on investing a substantial portion of his political capital and goodwill to help rehabilitate her reputation and image. Making excpetions to his conflict of interest and ethics standards to appoint Hillary seems very risky.

Yeah, just the way big donors to the Obama campaign, and there were many, disqualified Obama from being president.

He'll do what everyone else does.

He'll absent himself from the day-to-day dealings of the foundation and library and submit future speaking engagements to the administration for approval.

I believe that's included in "whatever they want."

He shouldn't be held to a higher standard than any other spouse of a prospective cabinet member.
