While on Oprah to talk about his life and promote his new film, Brad Pitt came face to face with one of his more ardent fans in the most uncomfortable Oprah moments of recent time.

Via webcam, Oprah welcomed viewers to the show to ask questions of Pitt and Cate Blanchett, stars of "The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button."

Up on the big screen came Christina, a self-professed fan of 17 years, who wanted to know how many tattoos Brad has and where they are and their meanings.

Pitt glossed over answering, so she followed up with specifics, naming the tattoo and the body parts she wanted to know about. When Pitt turned red and went silent, Oprah pressed her, the fan, for more tattoo details.

The awkwardness is remarkable and lasts a shockingly long time until Oprah finally shut it down.

Back in May Angelina told EW about the tattoo on Brad's back:

What's the deal with Brad's new tattoo?
I drew that. We went to Davos. It's not that we were bored at the World Economic Forum, but one night we didn't have anything to do, so I was drawing on his back.

So it's not permanent?
It is. But I was just sketching.

On him?
On him, yeah.

And you thought, 'Let's make it a tattoo'?
He just liked it! The picture everybody saw was kind of awkward, but it just lines up beautifully on his back, just enhances the part of the body I like.

The one on his stomach is Jolie's birthday in Khmer (6-4-1975):

His arm tattoo has been identified as an outline of the iceman, Ötzi, who was found in an Italian glacier in 1991. He is thought to be around 5,300 years old and is Europe's oldest natural human mummy.

having seen the entire interview as well as the skype questions, no, Oprah did not really shut it down. By virtue of the fact that Cristina was able to ask further shows that she did not stop the line of questioning. Brad was visible uncomfortable with the tatoo questions and the specificity exhibited. Oprah was really more curious than anything because she did not know HOW this woman knew this information and the fact that Brad did not want to answer ANY of this woman's questions. She wanted to keep going to get Brad to answer, which he was not going to do. I don't think she shut it down. Brad was not going to answer so the questioning was pointless!!! Dead TV!!

What's the big deal? How hard is it to answer a question about a tatoo for one of your biggest fans? If the info is private just answer in general terms.

That woman was beyond creepy. I don't think celebs have to tell everyone what is on their bodies if they don't want to. It's really no ones business. Just being in public does not obligate them to answer every question.

It's not an obsessed fan or a crazy tatto lady, and Brad didn't blow her off, he politely declined to answer the question. Tempest in a teapot.

I'm not a huge Pitt fan- but I like some of his work. So, when I sat down to watch Oprah I thought it might be a good show. I thought Brad seemed a bit smug and maybe having an "off" day or something. However, the way he snubbed and blew off this fan like she was not worthy of asking him about some stupid tattoo- disgusted me. What little amount of respect I had for Mr. Pitt after he chated on his wife -is gone. I think Jen Aniston said it right a while back- Brad is missing a sensitivity chip. It was awful. Brad Pitt is mean. I will not pay any more hard earned money to watch his "so-so" movies ever again. He needs to just go away with his 8.6 million children and his precious- good-hearted Angelina. Ugh.

I know Pitt likes to get facials. I think both of them are narcissists but they typically come off as pretty 'normal' during interviews.

He has no problem selling his children's personal lives to the entire world to promote his media profile, yet appears insulted and evades the question when somebody asks him about a tattoo?

Can the Pitts just go away for they are the pits. Angelina is mental and Brad well, the elevator does not go to the top floor. Next!

This was simply one of the most disturbing television programs I have ever seen. The guy who asked Cate Blanchett for tips on how to find a girl like Cate Blanchett was so creepy and embarrassing that I had to turn the show off.

Yeah I agree. Blanchett actually came off as kind of dumb frankly. Oprah had to clarify the question so she could attempt an answer and the part with the crazy woman and the Pitt tattoos was creepy. Oprah didn't seem to get it either and kept bringing it up. I was confused and thought it interesting that he talked so much about his kids but would discuss a tattoo. NOT that I cared anyway. I admire the charity stuff they do but frankly am sick of hearing how wonderful their lives are with these children.

If I was a multi-millionaire many times over, I might be a little more inclined to 'help others' so I can experience 'the real meaning of life."

You might want to check out the homes Pitt is building in New Orleans for those made homeless by the levee failures. He has gone above and beyond ordinary "help(ing) others" many times over.

If she knows he doesn't wanna talk about it why does she keep going on
and on like a psycho? She's weird...really weird.

She knew she was making him very uneasy and she kept going...how obnoxious?!

This guy is so boring...Why not just commenting on the tatoos, what's the big deal, instead of looking all red and embarassed ! I really can't stand these people: he and hisgirlfriend are totally uncool!

Seriously! I agree; the most interesting part of the interview might have been the info on the tatoos!

Another consideration ~ as far as Oprah's obvious support for the Pitt/Jolie union goes ~ is that she herself has no children ... and may also be past that age where this is an option (other than via adoption). So, Oprah Winfrey really doesn't have the life experience in new parents/parenting/child development issues, etc. that some of us already have!

Moreover, Oprah may be doing some 'wishful thinking' of her own when she says in this interview "dare see" .... perhaps believing that since they do now have many kids together, that the couple needs to remain intact for their children's benefit. And thus, like so many people do ... she unintentionally buys into Pitt's on air celebration of his own fathering & parent status.

Oprah actually has 150 daughters. The girls at her school in Africa consider her their mother.

Since when do we congratulate people for being parents? Am I missing something here? Brad Pitt and his gal pal are no more special than the millions of couples and parents out there. Period. And, '...you fit together so seamlessly...' Really? You know this how? Like He and Jennifer fit many moons ago? Like Reese and Ryan fit? Like Bennifer fit? You get my drift...

Sincere best wishes to them and EVERY family unit out there, but people, this celebrity worship has GOT. TO. STOP.

I too thought Pitt looked very uncomfortable when she said Canada and Christina. Who knows if this fan has followed him in the past or what. It must be unnerving when someone starts mentioning tattoos in private places or otherwise. We can admire people but they certainly don't have to explain their personal lives to us. Brad and Angielina go to great lengths to avoid the photographers and try to live as private a life as possible.
