Pitt Fan

While on Oprah to talk about his life and promote his new film, Brad Pitt came face to face with one of his more ardent fans in the most uncomfortable Oprah moments of recent time.

Via webcam, Oprah welcomed viewers to the show to ask questions of Pitt and Cate Blanchett, stars of "The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button."

Up on the big screen came Christina, a self-professed fan of 17 years, who wanted to know how many tattoos Brad has and where they are and their meanings.

Pitt glossed over answering, so she followed up with specifics, naming the tattoo and the body parts she wanted to know about. When Pitt turned red and went silent, Oprah pressed her, the fan, for more tattoo details.

The awkwardness is remarkable and lasts a shockingly long time until Oprah finally shut it down.

Back in May Angelina told EW about the tattoo on Brad's back:

What's the deal with Brad's new tattoo?
I drew that. We went to Davos. It's not that we were bored at the World Economic Forum, but one night we didn't have anything to do, so I was drawing on his back.

So it's not permanent?
It is. But I was just sketching.

On him?
On him, yeah.

And you thought, 'Let's make it a tattoo'?
He just liked it! The picture everybody saw was kind of awkward, but it just lines up beautifully on his back, just enhances the part of the body I like.

The one on his stomach is Jolie's birthday in Khmer (6-4-1975):

His arm tattoo has been identified as an outline of the iceman, Ötzi, who was found in an Italian glacier in 1991. He is thought to be around 5,300 years old and is Europe's oldest natural human mummy.

I saw it and I don't think she seemed "obsessed" at all. I actually thought he was pretty rude to her.

Crazed/Obsessed? I don't think so.

This video is NOTHING like the description that accompanies it. If you are looking for people to summarize videos for you, HuffPo, I could use some more PT telecommute work. No problem.

I watched this twice--2nd time it all just seemed normal. I sometimes think we too much perceive what we are told to see in something. Yes Brad sort of blushed, but didn't seem that terrifically uncomfortable. His remark to Kate that she was gonna get hers too, or whatever, sounds pretty relaxed. I think he has always been a much shyer man than one might think. After his zoom to fame with discovery in Thelma and Louise he really seemed to hate the limelight until he adjusted to it. And he's always dressed goofy, maybe to downplay the macho romantic hero role he's cast in. Both he and Leo Di Caprio like that mustached 40's actor look.

He's currently doing a part in a WW2 movie at the moment, hence his mouth-sitting caterpillar and the '40s look.

It looks more manly and less sleazy on DiCaprio.

There was nothing strange about the exchange he makes over 20 million a movie and while many Americans don't have health care and can barely afford to keep a roof over their heads, he is living large because of these fans who pay money to see his movies and so if he has to give up some of his privacy well that is just apart of the compromise for that lifestyle he has grown so accustom too!

I was thinking about something like that the other day when I read a similar topic about various reactions to actor Robert Downey Jr.'s decision to buy an another house and the current economy.
I was thinking it was not all too dissimilar to the days of the Great Depression. I once read an article about the existence of this strange marriage between the Great Depression and the thriving Hollywood Glamor era. There were many living on the poverty line and yet they spent what they had on cinema, just to see their movie idols who were living in luxury somewhat, too. Apparently, for these cinema-goers, it was a temporary mental relief from the everyday grim life. They apparently wanted the glamor to continue to shine. Color is better than gray, so to speak.
It makes sense and I think many actors are aware of this in a way. It's an awkward position, being a constant target of negative reactions as well as idol worship. Either way, it works because it provides both platform some kind of a temporary break from everyday reality.
On second thought, I'm probably talking nonsense. :/

oh gosh, now i am thinking jennifer anniston's comments in vogue

about someone getting a tattoo to prove they are interesting

make more sense

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 08:55 PM on 11/19/2008

But what about the people who complain about the people who get tattoos?

I wonder what those people are trying to prove.

Brad Pitt would be a natural to play Adolph Hitler, opposite Tom Cruise.

I dunno - he seems to have the young middle-aged Howard Hughes look down pat.

...not sure who "pat" is, though.

I just don't get this obsession some people have with celebrities. They are human beings, like the rest of us, and none of them are perfect. You can admire them for their talents without placing them on pedestals. There is something seriously wrong with these kinds of fans. They need psychological help. And they need to get a life.

Apart from those last two lines, I agree with you.

About the last two lines -- I don't agree with them needing psychological help or get a life. They are not that different from sport fans, fashion fans, manga and anime fans, toy model makers, and other hobbyists.
