ST. PAUL, Minn. — A Minnesota judge has granted a request by Democratic Senate candidate Al Franken for the release of information on voters whose absentee ballots were rejected.

Ramsey County Judge Dale Lindman directed the county to produce the data by the close of business Wednesday. It complied.

Franken wanted the rosters of disqualified absentee voters in all 87 counties to determine if they were properly rejected in the counting of ballots for his close race with incumbent Sen. Norm Coleman.

Lindman's ruling applies only to Ramsey County, the state's second-largest county and the home of the state capital, but it represents a partial victory for Franken.

A key board hasn't decided whether to allow wrongly rejected absentee ballots into the statewide recount.

Well now, let's see. Repubs are excellent at lying, cheating, stealing, you name it. Two Presidential elections were snatched away from Dems and they still want to turn this state over to Coleman. This is not a good move and they will NOT get away with it. Al Franken will see to it.

Coleman is a Republican, not a Democrat.

If Repubs and wingnuts start accusing of election stealing, ask then why counting all votes is stealing?

What about stopping recounts, or proper oversight of any boards of elections with extremely partisan directors who would do anything to tilt it--say, do what they could to halt the march of the US Senate toward a filibuster-proof majority?

Division, division division.

No new ideas, a dead philosophy, and unethical behaviors.

Coleman and the republicans tried this vote stealing in Florida and they are trying it again but it won't work. They just can't accept the fact that they will not get away with it again.

It's up to the DEMS - in this case, Al Franken - to stick to their guns, no matter what. Not like cave-in Kerry in 2004 - ugh, that pissed me off majorly!!!

If nothing else Franken is well read and smart which is more than can be said of George W. Bush. It makes me laugh that people have an issue with someone from Saturday Night Live being a Senator but they are fine with having a President of marginal intellect. When are people going to learn that the number one qualification for serving in public office is having a brain?
Now the Republicans are complaining because people who may have had their votes cast aside are going to have those votes counted. What a horrible thing!. Oh yeah I forgot, that worked pretty well in Florida 8 years ago!

I think Al Franken would be great in the Senate but I was hoping that he'd write at least one more book slamming Rush and Billo. There's are so many more f-ups to write about since " ...big fat idiot" and " ...lying liars..." Do ya think it is unseemly for a serving U.S. Senator to write "See I told You He Was a Big Fat Idiot" ? Naaaaah

Don't worry, just having to say Senator Franken should he win will be pure he-ll for O'Liely and dr-ug addled gas bag Rush, their heads will ex-plo-de daily.

If Al makes it, we can start work on getting Lewis Black elected head of the Government Accountability Office. What testimony THAT would be!

It is down to so few that it is conceivable that the registrars could personally contact the absentee voters in question to verify the ballots as legit and even the intent for that matter.

...you can see how this thing is moving....lil' normie coleman insists Franken concede....then coleman loses a suit to disqualify certain ballots...then the registrar finds that some ballot totals were miscounted (to the detriment of Franken)....then Franken wins a suit to examine rejected ballots...

...keep on keepin' on, Al.....normie's goin' down.....
