The Nazi leader lost a testicle during the Battle of the Somme in 1916, the doctor claimed.

The medical condition, for which there has never been conclusive proof, was mocked in the Second World War ditty which begins: "Hitler has only got one ball, the other is in the Albert Hall."

It would seem that someone has too much time on their hands.

I feel sympathy for the doctor. It must be difficult to live with the idea you saved the life of a man who went on to be responsible for the deaths of so many.

And this is important why? The man's been dead for over 60 years. I don't want to hear about a live man's testicles, never mind a dead man's... Move on.

Secret? George Carlin shared that information with the world years ago.

I loved George Carlin. Do you happen to know the name of the routine in which he spoke of this; it would be funny to hear.

Typical HP headline. Linked article headline is much better.

Slow news day?

That's not a secret, I always knew Hitler had one nut, he was also a drug user, which most certainly impaired his judgement during the war and was in love with his 1st cousin.

Read the thread. The jokes are pretty good.

Only one person hit the nail on the head, though: Dogbane (but picking an argument with feisty Amanda probably wasn't the best move). While it has been known for some time, based on various witnesses and the SMERSH autopsy, that Schickelgruber had only one nut, this is a new eyewitness account with wonderfully salacious details, and historians and history buffs should welcome it.

Amanda, Dogbane was a bit off the mark on the reliability of the autopsy at first, but that wasn't his main point. His central point--that this is news--is spot-on, and you should admit it.

Regards,

Doc

The new witness is news. Hi_tler having lost a testicle in WWI is not. That was my point. Dogbane gratuitously insulted me.

Thank you. That was my point as well. DocSarvis is right that I "was a bit off the mark on the reliability of the autopsy." I'll admit that

"Dogbane gratuitously insulted me."

I'm sorry that you feel that way. I picked on you because you are an historian, and your lack of enthusiasm about this new account puzzled me, to say the least, and led me to believe you had not read the linked article and were making a judgment based on the Huffpo headline and exerpt. To me that signalled a lack of curiosity uncharacteristic of your chosen profession.

It's not like you haven't gratuitously insulted me, or others on a regular basis. You even went so far as to call me a Republican. I even changed my profile bio in response to you.

Peace.

I can't believe this thing is getting space...

Journalists are still catching up with events from 90 years ago? That could explain a lot.

This is no secret...it's been known for decades! I knew this in high school!

Wow! This is just the sort of thing that CNN would call BREAKING NEWS.
Ah yes, news -- I remember it vaguely from some past time.

Scary to think of what a two-testicled Hitler would have been like.

I could have sworn that was how Cheney billed himself when he ran for Congress.
