Jean-Claude Van Damme Hits On Reporter Mid-Interview

Jean-Claude Van Damme did a Q&A with Newsweek's Sarah Ball, and at the end of the interview he stops answering questions about his new film "JCVD" and starts hitting on her instead. Van Damme, 48 and 5'9, is currently married to his fifth wife.

I really opened myself up in "JCVD." I peeled back the skin of the fruit, cut the pulp and then took that very hard seed. In this film I cut that hard seed, and inside that seed was a kind of liquid cream substance of the man I am, or the woman you are.

From my life as a bartender, I have seen this approach work maybe one out of ten times - and that's for guys who aren't former moviestars. There is no real shortage of women who will say yes, just few guys who dare ask. Add a French accent, or any accent, and I give him a 50% shot at success. Add in some fame, and the odds are in his favor. The question is: Will Sarah Ball be at the premiere in black? If not, someone will be.

And the 5'9" thing is a lame swipe at John Clod. He's still gonna kick your @ss. And he's still gonna get as much sex as he wants. Did 7'1" Wilt Chamberlain's height make his "10,000 conquests" seem more ridiculous?

What does it mean to 'get as much sex as he wants?' What is it to 'get sex'? What does a man feel after having 'gotten sex'? Does he feel better? Better than if he had masturbated? Does he know -- or not know -- that having 'put one over on' another person doesn't make him bigger, or smarter, or having more cache? Doesn't he feel, if that's what he thinks, like a fraud? Does he feel even a little bit sorry to have used a woman's mind/body/heart like a piece of Kleenex?

I remember Cloe Madanes, in a family therapy training on sexual abuse saying, in her Argentinian accent, 'The sex is connected to the heart. When the sex is used and abused, the heart is too...'

So, what does 'conquering' mean, when it comes to sex? What does a man conquer? His own feelings of worthlessness? For a minute? An hour? Hardly a day, I would surmise. Just what?
