UPDATE: ROSIE RESPONDS
Rosie O'Donnell posted this video today after the below clip occurred on "The View"

PREVIOUSLY:
Barbara Walters made a dig at former "View" host Rosie O'Donnell on Thursday. "There are some people who have done the show and then for years feel they have to dump on it... I resent it. If the shoe fits, lady, ladies, get on with your lives! We are not perfect. We are not always happy."

Joy Behar and Elisabeth Hasselbeck agreed and Elisabeth singled out "one [year] more difficult than others".

Within seconds Walters was being told in her ear by the control room to "get on with it" and the subject was dropped.

Wednesday in Los Angeles Rosie spoke about her time on show, saying how Walters feigns camaraderie on the show. Former host Star Jones has been silent in recent months.

the "ladies" have no class . whoppee is cool, she didn't feel the need to mock and laugh at Rosie. In Rosies view, when she was on the show, they didn't get along, why do they have to be so angry and defensive about Rosies opinion. The View is a dumb show with dumb hosts. whoppee is the only cool one

I agreed with Rosie when she was on "The View", and I think Hassleback is a shallow, annoying conservative, who just spews GOP/Fox News talking points, without any deep thought.

However, Rosie should just get on with her life, and stop talking about the show. It is water under the
bridge, and no one really cares. Star Jones also tried to criticize the show, that really gave her an opportunity, but no one really listened. Rosie should take note.

I totally agree! Starr when on with her life and did not go on every blog or TV show blasting the view. Move on Rosie, no one likes a crybaby. You let Elizabeth nobody run you off the show. She is the dumbest host on there too. You should have held your groundYou have no class Rosie.

Why don't you all just be honest with yourselves, if that is possible. You don't like Rosie and it is as simple as that. Rosie have been off the view for a year and I go to her blog regularly and she has never put BW down. Even though I thought that she shouldn't have considering how she was treated at the end of that show. BW is a fake old woman that time has pass but don't want to admit it. So it is a lie when they say Rosie slams BW because although I would like her to, she never have. By the way if BW can stomach EH then she shouldn't have a problem with anyone. But in America, good looks get a pass everytime.

It often amazes me on this forum and others how sexism and misogyny rear their heads whenever women are the topic.

Racism, people recognize, but sexism and misogyny go unchecked. Sad.

The subject and concept of misogyny is among the quickest of all quicksands - say something critical of a man, and the game is on - agree, disagree, whatever. Nobody cares if the agree-er disagree-er is male or female, but what if they - or the subject - are gay, or white, or queer? Subtle shades of prejudice color the debate. Understood, and accounted for, in one way or another. BUT if a man criticizes a woman, or if a woman criticizes another woman - all bets are off. It's misogyny, pure and simple. Like a Jew criticizing another Jew - they're obviously bigoted or self-loathing, right?

I submit that the acceptance of wo-persons in the hurly-burly of interpersonal debate and criticism is the final frontier of political correctness - and that no one is less charitable toward women in this regard (and by definition more misogynistic) than other females.

I am the son of a single mom, who was twice a sister. I married a woman who blessed me with two daughters. I later found myself the partner of a woman who was one of five sisters and mother to a daughter. I (shockingly) therefore know a thing or two about women and have witnessed in many expressions their relations to one another. Never have I witnessed greater prejudice or cruelty toward women or girls than that originating from those who share their gender. Sisterhood is powerful - please, give me a break...

I've often told my husband that I'd much rather work with and compete with men than with women. Men compete ferociously, but rarely make it hateful and personal. Many women I've worked with, in several different industries and capacities, not only make it personal, but actually seek and destroy. It disheartens me, but I have a theory. For centuries, women had no power in society - they were chattel, couldn't hold office, own land, be the leader of their country or even keep their children close and rear them. The only power they had was in their bodies - they could seduce, bear sons, keep themselves alive with their sexual home-keeping skills, and that was about it. Wives could be discarded (or, famously, executed), if they didn't bear an heir or if another match was considered advantageous or politically expedient. Other women could not always be trusted. Just as anthropologists have suggested that men and women have developed skills according to what was needed to survive before we became a civilized society, I think this instinct to mistrust and cut out other women has become part of our (women's) cellular makeup. As I'm typing this, I know it sounds wacky, but it's something I've been thinking about.

Perfect! I love Rosie. She actually had a clear strong opinion on "The View" about the war, Bush etc, and was right on. But they don't like women with too strong an opinion on "THE View", so Rosie had to go. Now the show is very watered down and quite lame. I don't watch it anymore. The Republican Bill Geddie often gives them all directions to move on from topics which get too pointed, then on to fluff the all go at his direction. Might be interesting if they had a republican on "The View" who actually had a critical opinion about politics instead of Elizabeth H, who just spews forth Faux News propaganda.
Could have been an interesting show had they kept Rosie on. True dissent is hard to come by on the mainstream media.

I don't like Rosie but I can be fair and when it comes to what went down between she and Elisabeth Rosie was 100% in the right. Elisabeth Hasselbeck has character issues.

You know... i actually like Rosie. I like an outspoken woman with a bit of sass to her.

And, to the people saying women tear each other to pieces when they are in a
competitive environment: yes, that is true. It is also true of men who compete with
one another.

Let's face it, when women get together in a competitive environment, they tear each other to pieces.

Naahh I would disagree. I worked for years with women, and it wasn't my experience. Now when you get men in a competitive environment, you might get a war.

You're both on track - the genders just manifest their competitiveness and amity differently..

Men start wars and resort to physical violence. Women use a war of words and personality assassination.

Seeing Rosie is as painful as seeing Limbaugh and Giuliani, O'Reilly and Ingraham try to make sense out of their losing the election. It's sort of funny but more boring and lackluster making it unlikely that most conscientious people will take them seriously.
Their entertainment value has burned out too unless you also like reruns of "All in the Family" and listening to people like David Duke.
The country doesn't need more bigots and hatemongers, loud mouthed cretins with little to say and very finite audiences.

All this tells me is that you've never really listened to Rosie. Perhaps it is her style you find too abrasive. I can respect that. Some people have sounds that are just too irritating for me... Palin for example. And Rosie is not a cretin, she's a well educated peacemonger who used facts to support her arguments back before using facts was cool.

In the last eight years I've seen no one, not even Bill Maher or Oprah fight for our soldiers like that girl did five days a week. No one came close to her. She spoke too passionately for some. But she could see lives being lost for a madman's folly and if you don't get passionate over that, what do you get passionate about? She's Irish, she's a fighter, she fought a great fight for a great cause. Everything everyone does on TV is for ratings, except Rosie when she was on the View. Rosie the Riveter. :)

See what I mean? If you don't like her, it's only because you never heard what she was saying. To a great extent she said what Obama said/says only with a great deal more passion.

That's fine if gaseous windbags trip your trigger then you'll be delited with her new soapbox propped up entertainment show. I guess that's it really, people tend to get caught up in believing she's some sort of an authority when in reality she's an entertainer. It's like watch the National Enquirer come to life.

Why does anyone even watch this show? Especially women?! These hags (excluding Whoopi) do all women a disservice by whining, bitching, and making catty comments like high school cheerleaders.
They go against the women's movement by showing the world that --at least in a group-- women actually CANNOT contribute in certain sectors of society due to their lack of respect (self and otherwise) and professionalism.

Rosie needs to relax.

This is not her finest hour.

Also, what is she doing with her life... is she back in her parents basement. Better hide that tube sock.
