Barbara Walters Slams Rosie: Get On With Your Life, Rosie Responds (VIDEO)

Rosie O'Donnell posted this video today after the below clip occurred on "The View"

PREVIOUSLY:
Barbara Walters made a dig at former "View" host Rosie O'Donnell on Thursday. "There are some people who have done the show and then for years feel they have to dump on it... I resent it. If the shoe fits, lady, ladies, get on with your lives! We are not perfect. We are not always happy."

Joy Behar and Elisabeth Hasselbeck agreed and Elisabeth singled out "one [year] more difficult than others".

Within seconds Walters was being told in her ear by the control room to "get on with it" and the subject was dropped.

Wednesday in Los Angeles Rosie spoke about her time on show, saying how Walters feigns camaraderie on the show. Former host Star Jones has been silent in recent months.

I am so sick of Babwa, ElizHassel, and the whole View show. Just give Joy her own deal and shut the rest down. The only time that show was worth watching was when RosieO was on.

Oh Babs . . . poor dear. I respect you greatly, but it may be time to put away your reporter's notebook and disappear into retirement -- permanently.

Morning television is littered with pretty young and middle-aged women chatting innocuously over fashion trends, gourmet recipes, feminine bodily functions and the requisite fawning over celebrity hunks.

The ONLY reason "The View" is at all relevant AT ALL today is because of the shock delivered to its system by Rosie during her tenure on the panel. They discovered that her penchant for "debate" (i.e. delivering verbal and logical bodyslams -- usually at Hasselbeck's expense) was actually worth watching (and translated into ratings and moolah), a track they have faithfully traveled since O'Donnell left the show. They should be grateful that she gave them a formula for success, rather than chiding her for merely saying that the onscreen gal-palling doesn't translate in reality. Really -- who cares if Whoopi and Joy have dinner together each week?

Hmmm... I think it's Barbara who hasn't moved on. What: Is Rosie supposed to not ever say anything about her time on this show? Besides, Rosie's comments were rather benign. She just said that the women aren't palsy-walsy off screen. Which is true. And Barbara makes it seem like they are. Which is true.

I don't get why that would make Barbara so ticked.

Finally. Rosie may speak her mind, but she's never lied. Barbara parses the truth all the time. So, you know, the Rosie Haters need to get over it.

The View is a joke. Nobody watches it anymore because they cannot stand Hasselback. I stopped watching because I got tired of pressing MUTE every time she spoke.

Rosie is just telling the truth as usual. And as usual, Barbara gets upset.

I noticed how Sherri and Whoopi jut kept quiet! Maybe because as Black people we know if they don't say it to our faces it is not worth commenting about. People can say whatever they want behind our backs but to say it to our faces then that's when we have a problem!

I realized a long time ago that the View is a big commercial for ABC shows. Notice how they talk about Dancing with the Has Beens all the time?

Say what you will about Rosie--she is REAL! If Barbara were a real professional journalist as she purports to be--she would have let it go. Barbara Walters is the biggest non-journalist in the biz. She does fluff. Period.

Rosie was the only one that gave life to that show besides Joy. Whoopi thinks she's too cool and self-righteous - especially when it comes to Sherri - as ditzy as she is, I think she has a good heart, but Whoopi is so condescending to her at times it's embarrassing. Barbara only wants to promote her specials and her book - ENOUGH - take the show off the air and make us all want to "view" something worth watching. Elisabeth needs to go back to the island and hopefully she won't be rescued this time...

Rosie is hilarious. She definitely doesn't always see where the line is or care, but she is authentic and I personally love it. The View thinks that everyone who works there has to drink the Kool-Aid and pretend like they are all friends. What they don't get is that the fact that half of them hate the other half of them is fabulous. Just today they were talking about how Sherri and Elisabeth didn't go out with the rest of them because of "sickness" to deal with. Yeah right.

Rosie calls like she sees it and is funny about it to boot. Love her or hate her, you gotta respect that she is who she is. Barbara could stand a little more authenticity in her life.

LOL. Funny stuff. We miss ya Rosie, can't wait for your show. I have been watching the View from the beginning and I didn't think it was classy of how Babs and Bill Geddie got rid of Debbie, Star and Rosie while Meredith was highly praised. I still watch The View (cos of Joy and now Whoopee), I just mute it when Eirheadbeth spouts something ignorant.
