Former U.S. Commerce Secretary Bill Daley could become more of a fixture at the Statehouse if he makes a run for governor in 2010.

But he wasn't saying too much about the possibility when he took part in a news conference at the Capitol this week as co-chair, with former Gov. Jim Edgar, of a new group formed to try and fix what ails education in Illinois.

"I'll talk to you next year," he said of the idea that he might seek the top state office.
