I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Bloomberg

In this week's Page Six Magazine Mayor Bloomberg's daughter Georgina leads an exclusive tour of the family estate where she opened up about everything--from her dad's colossal fortune to his equally gigantic ego.

On being the daughter of a prominent political figure:

"I've never been the ideal political daughter. I'm a bit of a loose cannon. I've always been someone who wants to do things myself. That's the way my parents raised me. It's a Bloomberg thing."

On her father's bid for a third term as mayor:

"As a New Yorker, I think he's doing a good job. If it's going to make him happy, I support him. My fear is living through the election process again."

On her father's ego:

"My dad has changed a lot since he became mayor seven years ago. When he was just a businessman, he was pretty egotistical. People were telling him how great he was every day. Politics has humbled him. Now he seems to really want to hear what I have to say, and I wouldn't have said that a few years ago--but I've also become less of a brat."

On supporting herself:

"I'm not rich, my father's rich. When I go shopping, that's my own money. I hope someday I can make money and be as successful as my dad is. I'm not totally independent of my dad, but my parents have taught me the value of a dollar."

On her father's celebrity as mayor:

"When I turn on the news and hear about what 'Mayor Bloomberg' is doing, that's a different person to me. You can't look at that person as your father, because mentally you wouldn't be able to get through the day. We have maybe one night a week together [at restaurants or sporting events], and people keep coming up to him, wanting his autograph. Whenever I feel like, 'Oh God, I wish people would stop,' I realize that's part of who he is. He's worked hard for that and he deserves it."

She's not rich? How many nights has she spend pacing the floor wondering how she was going to pay the rent? Even if she didn't have her "own income," do we really believe she has ever had one single second of worry about what if she lost the job, the savings, the future? Please. She's got fallback, she knows it, we know it, and that makes this whole story pathetic.

You said it. She has a security, a peace of mind, that millions of Americans will never have, Americans who are just a few paychecks from poverty, who could lose everything if they became injured, ill, or lost their jobs and were not able to find another qucik enough. I'm so tired of hearing how these rich kids are learning the value of money and earning their keep.

You can have security, peace of mind, be a few paychecks from poverty, lose everything become injured, ill, or lose a job. But that is something from God, not Gov. For government to give you that peace of mind you will have to accept a high level of enslavement. And, I believe that the Founding Fathers knew this.

Is it that you don't think the Americans during the Founding generation faced these same fears you speak of? How did they cope with them? Did they ask the government to provide the safety nets democrats now ask the government to provide? I cannot find that they did.

How is it that early Americans didn't expect the Federal government to deliver them from fears that were more catastrophic at that time than any fears contemporary Americans face?

Could it be they had more faith in God than democrats have? If so, then these faithful ones went on to create what is one of the greatest and most prosperous countries known to mankind and was is not, in part, because they didn't let fear or suffering stop them because of their faith?

Yes, there is a role for government in our lives, the Founders made sure of that, but what you speak of is utopian and unachievable by a free people.

What you seem to be asking for is God.

And He is there to comfort you, if you wish.

Indeed. A very healthy looking young woman. Not a bag of sticks with the curves of a 15 year-old boy.

Okay, so here is the deal on this girl.

She is an olympic horse rider, and she is 23 (she looks like 17-18 in that photo)

and if you thought she had to lose a couple pounds, not so in the few google pics.

Also love the line "Im not rich" when she is in top 20 Heiress' in the world (she's worth at least 10 billion), common now.

She is right -- she isn't rich. Her dad is rich, or her family is rich. But she has no right to that money unless he's set aside money for her -- but until she has it -- it's not hers.

Was she in the HBO documentary, "Born Rich"? I believe so. She seemed very down-to-earth in her interview at that time. She even said it "sucked" having the last name, "Bloomberg"

she sounds like a great girl:

"Now he seems to really want to hear what I have to say, and I wouldn't have said that a few years ago--but I've also become less of a brat."

she is growing up well, IMO

but you deserve more time with your dad, so please tell the egomaniac to stay home, be a dad to you before you go marry and make him a grandfather.
