I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Joe The Author

One of the hilarious -- and sad! -- parts of Samuel "Joe The Plumber" Wurzelbacher's recent interview with CNN's Rick Sanchez was that moment where an exasperated J.T. Plumber whined at Sanchez, "Well, ask good questions then! Why don't you ask what I'm going to do now?" Awww! See, Joe The Plumber wasn't interested in being asked to account for whatever pseudo-intellectual swill was worming its way through his brain when he went out on the stump, with all of his opinions. No, no! Joe The Plumber just wanted to use the forum as a way of plugging all of his upcoming projects, like any good little fame-whore!

Well, one of those upcoming projects, as we first reported, was touted in the pages of today's New York Times. It seems that Wurzelbacher has secured a book deal with PearlGate Publishing. Is this for the book that he's been touting in advance of this deal on his website? Yes, apparently! (That website has a spiffy-new early 2000's redesign by the way, but buyer beware! The cost of a "Freedom Membership" has just gone up by a dollar!)

From the Times:

In an interview with Fox News Mr. Wurzelbacher said he could have signed a deal with a larger publisher. "But they don't need the help," Mr. Wurzelbacher said. "They are already rich. So that's spreading the wealth to me."

The book is going to be published on December 1, which, as Daily Intel puts it, is "an amazingly quick turnaround time." So much so that one can anticipate the book being either a compendium of Joe's typical hastily constructed "thoughtlettes" or a pop-up book about Bristol Palin's courtship and subsequent RNC-mandated shotgun wedding, for sad children.

PearlGate, Joe's publisher, has published only one title before: "Things Forgotten" by Thomas Tabback. Mr Tabback will be ghosting Mr Wurzelbacher's memoir. Here's the blurb for "Things Forgotten":

"After a traumatic experience, Bronx Police Officer Paul Kelly awakens in a hospital with no memory. His life and loved ones are all lost to him, but a specter from the past awakens him to an identity more than 3200 years ago. In a time when the heavens still touched the earth and man witnessed the might of God with plain eyes, there lived Nahar, son of Nahath, son of Reuel. Through Nahar's eyes, Paul is about to recall events that would forever change the world, for he dwelt in the Jordan Valley of Canaan, as a chosen people prepared to cross the river into their Promised Land. Prepare for an incredible journey as Nahar sweeps you into the historical events of the Israelite Conquest of Canaan, and discover the mystery of Nahar’s connection with Paul."

Mr Tabback appears to be an ideal partner for Joe.

Maybe he'll read a little of what his ghostwriter writes, but he sure won't be writing any of the book!

Maybe Sarah Palin and George Bush are going to be the ghost writers? Just a guess. One thing is for certain, it definitely won't be very interesting. It'll be in the nickel bin before you know it. I might buy it at that point, to start a fire in my fireplace instead of newspaper.

Why would anybody want to buy this crap. If he writes the way he speaks -- forget it. He's one step above, or below, Palin in ability to understand the drivel that comes out of his piehole.

WOW! Another classic for American Literature. What's next? a reality show on Fox? Has Oprah invited him yet? or, did he decline to go to Jerry instead?

The photo of Joe the Plumber included with this news story closely resembles Billy Bob Thornton's character from "Sling Blade," no?

On the bright side, with the economy the way it is, in a few months this book will be cheaper than Charmin!!

Ah, come on everyone. The book will have a title that you can sing to...everyone join me in "I'm Popeye the Plumber Man...I live in the garbage can....". Let's not forget it will be a great addition (the only book) in the George Bush libratary. Wait there's more...if you call the 800 number on your screen now, we'll throw in the edgy biography "Nailin' Palin".

Man I was going to read Tolstoy over Christmas, but this is a must read! I can't wait to read the 45 pages about when he walks across the lawn to ask Obama a question. Not to mention the exciting drama of John McCain announcing him and he was not there. This is one to read over and over to the kids.

Hilarious. You made me laugh out loud. This will be a classic case of "there's no there there."

Joe the Plummer is a hero to one person: himself!

I just hope that the government garnishes any income he gets for the book for his UNPAID TAXES!
