What's the striped uniform the elephant on the Republican convention guide cover is wearing? Maybe in coming months their approval rating will soar within the Federal prison system.

The republicans can't get out of their own way when it comes to greed and profit. They fail at governance because their ambition to gain power and control of the government is to rob the treasury of the United States into bankruptcy which they may have accomplished as a result of the past eight years of the Bush administration. Kindness and forgiveness are not forthcoming for republicans because they have created the misery at home and abroad that may take generations to escape from their errors and incompetence.

Whow!!! That is 27% higher that congress had. The republicans might have done better if the 57% of Obama supporters who thought republicans controlled congress really knew republicans did not.

The party ID in Congress is MUCH lower for Republicans than Democrats. The reason Congress has a whole is so low is due to Republican obstruction.

And natuely those 25%ers who love Bush hated Congress because DEMOCRATS had control. PERIOD.

The GOP's image problem will continue to be eroded by statements like the one this from would-be RNC chairman Michael Steele about "...my friends Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, and Laura Ingraham." ( He was guest-hosting on the radio this morning.) The GOP doesn't seem to realize how utterly despised the hate radio spewers are among everyone but the hard right electorate. Fine, embrace the demonizers... appear on stage with them, go on their shows, quote their inflamed rhetoric, hang out with them, and see where it gets you.

What' sad is, after the Democrats manage to clean up the mess, American's will become complacent and vote Repubs back into office. Of course it might be a long time until that happens. Roosevelt was elected four terms with Truman following that..

It took 24 years for the GOP to take back the Presidency and over 50 to gain back Congress after 1932.

Whenever Bush met with Congress and/or the Senate, Democrats were excluded.
The Bush Administration and the GOP under Bush were similar to spoiled children who had to have their way at all times and resorted to bullying when anyone had the audacity to question or criticize them.

I was residing in Paris at the time of the Freedom Fries/Freedom Toast debacle, and was extremely embarrassed by the Republican Congress and the president for such childishness.
The French and most of Europe had a good laugh at the arrogance of the Bush Administration and that incident made the US and Bush appear foolish.

I hope that President Obama and the Democrat Congress and Senate behave like adults and place country first over party loyalty.

Ugh! I remember that stupid Freedom Fries business...how embarrassing for our entire country. I cannot tell you how many people made disparaging remarks about the French because of the way Bush and the GOP behaved. Most of the time, the people I spoke with never even had been to France or knew anyone French. It just goes to show you how many narrow-minded sheeple live in the U.S.

The other thing Bush and the GOP can be credited with is the "if you're not with us, you're against us" and "everyone who doesn't think like us, doesn't agree with us or questions us is unpatriotic" attitude. Post-911 was such a shameful time in our country's history and it took a lot of courage to speak out against the thugs in the WH and GOP. Bush and the Republicans don't have to wonder why they have the lowest approval ratings ever -- they are by far the worst group of leaders. If the dems and public had any backbone, they would demand these men be brought up on charges of violating our constitution.

It's long overdue, took a war that began under false pretenses, and the worst economic catastrophe in nearly a century, but apparently even the working class (who the GOP have successfully fooled into voting against their own best interests for decades) finally get it. The Republican party and conservatism represent only the powerful, the privileged, and Christian extremists. Conservative policy has been a horrible failure, and our only hope in recovery is moving to the left via massive government reform.

They don't believe it because THEY don;t have that sense of loyalty, only to themselves.

One more thing, If I were a Republican in the government, I'd immediately put out a statement to quell this bs fear of Obama killing talk radio. In case ya'll were too busy listening to your heads rattle, the American people learned something about Obama, he LOVES the constitution. So when you try to stir our fears about him stepping on freedom of speech, it continues to reinforce your repuglican image.

The leader of the Republican party will be the one that cuts through the bs and focuses like a laser on what really, if anything, Obama is doing wrong and tells him via the media about it along with what he could do better and all the true reasons it would be better if he followed your advice.

For eight years that benefits Obama, because you know he'll take your best advice. And that will reinstate our confidence in the Republican party because they really have been country first for eight years, then if you bring the best candidate to the table in 2016, you could win again.

I'd just like to respect a Republican again.

Hello Repuglicans. I don't know who you are blaming for your failure, but I blame Bush 41 and Karl Rove. Hopefully you see now that targeting the vote of the 'low information' voter is a really, really bad idea. It forces you to run dumb people like Dan Quayle, GWB and Palin. Tragically for our country that crap worked twice. And the second time we saw with horror that dumb basses in the white house = lost jobs, lost homes, and lost retirement funds.

New rules to help kill off the Repuglican party and bring back the Republican party:

1. No more Bushes forever.
2. Give a copy of Karl Rove's playbook to every Republican and retitle it "The Road to Republican Hell is Paved with this greedy bhastard's Intentions." and subtitled "Don't do any of this."
3. Dig up all the dirt on Palin and bring it to the front page. You've seen how dangerous it is to have someone likable (by repuglicans) and stupid represent you... destroy her now or we will all suffer, Republicans most of all.

The best thing about George W. Bush was that he showed us just how bad a stupid president surrounded by evil sidekicks could make this country. And if you don't think losing our jobs, our homes and our retirement funds stamped that into our minds in big scarred letters, your party deserves to die.
