Trump Spire Installation Tentatively Set For Mid-December

The New York Times' always-excellent Jeff Zeleny has a sweet piece this morning that describes how Chicago is basking in the afterglow of Barack Obama's election victory. The story also suggests that Chicago is in the midst of an arts renaissance and mentions that "a spire is finally poised to be placed atop the Trump Tower here."

Well, the poising, it turns out, is going to take a little longer.

Andrew Weiss, the executive vice president of the Trump Organzation, told me yesterday in an email that the helicopter installation of the spire, already put off three times, won't happen until the weekend of December 13 and 14. And even those dates are far from a sure thing.
