I Like ItI Don’t Like It

It appears in this video that President Bush's approval is in a sorrier state than polls indicate. In a video taken at the G20 summit, Bush walks across a line of world leaders without shaking or being asked to shake any of their hands. Whether the President is being rejected by the world leaders or he is rejecting them, CNN's Rick Sanchez aptly says that Bush looks like "the most unpopular kid in high school that nobody liked."

If they were actually snubbing him, why didn't Bush have HIS hand out? He shook all their hands and was totally pally with them earlier in the day, which is why he moved through the line w/o putting his hand out here, to move things along for those who were shaking hands for the first time this meeting. I saw the videos of them meeting earlier. I'm no Bush fan but I am a fan of TRUTH. HuffPo can do better than this.

As much as I do not appreciate President Bush and his policies that has really given this country a black eye......I equally do not like the media being reckless with the news. This was nonsense that they were reporting for if these world leaders did not want to be with him...none had to show up. It is common sense. The media has become such a tabloid in motion that it is becoming increasingly hard to decipher the real news from the "created" news. It is dishonest and misleading. The reporters need to invest in investigation of their stories so that when it hits the rest of the country at least some resemblance of truth would be gleaned. As it stand now, I do not know what to believe and find myself having to investigate the media news for truth seems to have lost merit with a lot of them. SHAME ON YOU!

This was such p-r-o-p-a-g-a-n-d-a and people fell for it hook line and sinker. So sad people are so gullible that the media controls them this way.

I am glad we have a new President even though I would have preferred Hillary.

But this stuff is over the top D-U-M-B!

I wouldn´t want to shake this freak´s hand. Would´t want anything of him to rub off. I detest the man.

Fool me once, shame on you! Fool me twice, shame on me!
One might accept that most voters in 2000 had little information about the character of W.,
but in 2004 they had plenty of it. Yet for some peculiar reason they voted him back in office,
anyway. The blame for eight years of Bush can be laid at the feet of American voters
in 2004. Unless deaf and blind they knew the nature of this man by then and in spite of this
re-elected him. We all now have to pay the price of this unconscionable decision.

Philix, couldn't agree with you more. The world leaders so to speek, are classless. You are right, we elected Bush in. Bush isn't entirely to blame. The Clinton admin started the whole housing mess with their "FAIR HOUSING" policies. As far as terrorists goes, if you take abuse, your going to get abused even more. That includes terrorists.
There's plenty of blame to go around. It isn't just Bush.

...And eight years later people are still blaming Clinton. Clinton presided over the BIGGEST ECONOMIC BOOM IN AMERICAN HISTORY, he left office with a surplus and a balanced budget.

Right now this country is BROKE because Bush spent the last seven years giving Paris Hilton a tax break and NOT catching Bin Laden. Clinton made his share of mistakes but they didn't cost lives or break our budget. Let's not forget 9-11 happen under Bush, not Clinton. Give me a break people. You are comparing Robert de Niro with Bozo the Clown.

Supposedly, he loves the purell, so it's probably ok to shake his hand.

Well - it makes a good photo story.
I hate W as much as anybody on this site, but the reality is different, and I think we must honor the truth.
As the host of the conference, W just came from the welcoming event where he just shook hands with everyone. Most of the others were seeing each other for the first time at least that day.
The Chinese president in front is always very formal and shakes hands with everyone all the time.
The guy behind W (I honestly don't recognized him) skipped a couple of guys as well and perhaps didn't even make eye contact with one guy.
Things are never what they seem.
All that said I wouldn't shake hands with the a--hole either!

Are you sure that's what happened, or did the media simply repeat what the white house told them? Don't be too sure about that story.

He shouldn't have been the US President in the first place. Amazing.

Notice how the Republicans among us are insisting it's not what it so plainly is?

That's what four years of a McCain Administration would have been like denial.

He'd have committed every atrocity that Bush did, then his own, and Republican would be telling us, "No, he didn't actually set-off WWIII when he bombed Iran, Russia, etc., That was was the result of the Clinton Presidency.

For an administration that is famous for its use of 'stagecraft', this video does look rather strange. Even if Bush thought he was becoming ill or he was having trouble with his hand, it looks odd that he does what he does here. I wonder what the real story is.

It looks to me like he's the one not presenting his hand to be sahken, perhaps because he's the host and has gone through this hand-shaking thing with his guests so many times already prior to the photo shoot. Whatever the case was...(shrug), his days in the White House are numbered. There is a new Commander-in-Chief in town.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:34 AM on 11/22/2008

Your absolutely right in that he actually did shake hands with all of the guests before this, and theirs footage of it which was shown on Countdown and the Daily Show, so at least you suspected unlike a lot of these posters that this seemed rather sketchy.

But why wouldn't they have shaken hands with him again at the main photo op? Don't be too sure about that story.
