Greta Van Susteren's Dream Job: Running Internet News Site

I love my job but from time to time think about the future (I can be a dreamer)....what is next? what would be fun for me? Every day I have a different idea of what is next (and let me repeat, I do love my job), but if I had to pick today I would love to run an internet news site. I read the news all the time on the internet and I have some ideas of what I would do differently with some news sites...and I have had success developing GretaWire with you...so I have a history of working with the web....

Greta used to be a serious Legal Analyst ... now she is a joke 'newsperson'.... she is so star struck it's embarassing to watch her.

She is entitled to her dream of course; we all are.

It's a shame that someone who used to command such respect (in her old life, early TV career) has sunk so low. She traded in her brains and integrity for money and rubbing elbows with second rate celebrities.

I remember Greta when she was a brilliant legal analyst on CNN during the OJ trial .. after the trial she and Roger Cossack had a legal show that was smart, topical and so informative. I really looked up to her.

I never watched her show on FOX .. but when I saw the clips of her Love-Fest with Palin, I was shocked! What a shame to see someone who had so much talent and promise become such a bottom feeder! I know she makes a lot of money on FOX and I hope that makes her happy.

Greta is no longer someone whose ideas and opinions I listen to. She she have stuck to solid informational topics, such as the Law, where she shone. Her Palin interview revealed a star-struck lighweight, her questions to Palin were embarassingly stupid. She allowed Palin to spin her fantasy Bio.

Greta can do whatever she wants, of course. She just shouldn't expect anyone expecting intelligent reporting to pay attention. Silly celebrity 'interviews' are a dime a dozen.

While your ambitious goals are fine, take some advice from a media watcher who has been watching, and analyzing the media for some time:

Get your professional act together first, then try your hand at something that is on an adult level. If not, then have a happy life being a stay at home mom, and in your second career, serving as the legal side of real estate closings in some upper class suburb.

Sorry Greta: You don’t have what it takes in regards to the intellectual integrity, and critical thought capacity required.

Big problem.
During the election I tried some right wing sites. Name calling. Insults. Nuance one could fit on a postage stamp. GOPers like to be told what to think, like extremely simple black and white solutions and call the people who disagree with them names. That is why right wing radio does so well.

Progressives like to examine things, consider alternatives, and explore nuances. That is why left wing blogs do so well.
