What's Your Reaction?

This week, as reports of that Secretary of State position swirled around her, Hillary Clinton reunited with an old friend: her headband. At the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights gala in New York on Wednesday night, Hillary donned a thick gold headpiece, similar to the braided black style she wore frequently as First Lady, particularly during a trip overseas in 1996. Is the senator sending subliminal signals that she's ready to hit the road again...this time as Secretary of State? See the style progression below.

I don't know... I kind of think it's one of the more flattering looks of late...

I kept thinking "Who does she remind me of?" when I saw this photo... then it hit me:

Check this out : http://assets.espn.go.com/media/pg2/2002/0509/photo/a_jones_i.jpg

They certainly looked like they could be related to me!

Not a bad comparison for Hill - I would like to look as good as Shirley when I'm that age!

Since this article is obviously about her looks... is it me or has he had her nose fixed?

Back to this story: Headbands are great when trying to grow out one's hair/bangs.

It's a rare woman over 40 who can rock a headband!

I can't even imagine what I would look like if I traveled as much as any of these candidates. She should do whatever she needs to do to hold herself together.

Headbands are practical.

They are quick to use and, if well designed, they stay up.

I have always loved headbands because they provide the opportunity to wear your hair UP and DOWN at the same time. :)

I'm hoping for a revival of them since I have 3 feet of long brown hair (with a little gray now) piled on top of my head and the more popular handbands are the more choices I will have.

PLEASE keep wearing them.

HRC is unique in that she is more attractive as she ages. Men can become better looking with age, but it is unusual for women. Dare I say that she is actually kind "hot" for 61.

And the press thinks they didn't treat Hilary unfairly. This article is ridiculous. I guess the press wants her to go on a Palin shopping spree. I have news for the press. A woman of substance doesn't care if you like her headband or pantsuits. She isn't in it to impress you with her clothes.

Hey, whatever makes her feel good. That's what accessories are all about. (The effect makes me think a bit of the upswept braided style she wore at Bill's inauguration ball. I remember she was wearing a sort of lavender silk dress and I though she looked like she'd stepped out of an old fashioned storybook. It was charming.)

The only thing I would say against it is it seems a shame to sweep back such nice hair. I am and always was an Obama supporter, but I found myself admiring her hair during the primaries. She had finally found just the right style for her and even when her political arguments were making me mad I would often still have the thought "What great hair. I would give anything to have a head full of hair like that". lol

agree her hair during the primary was very flattering, so was her makeup

she seems to have aged since then; maybe it's because she's wearing her hair back off her face and it's too severe a style for her age and also not flattering to her face structure, as she's got a rather round face that seems moreso with age.

the gold headband doesn't appeal to me; the earlier black one was more flattering and offered more contrast with her hair also

i really liked her look when she wore the darker headbands back in the '90s....maybe it was because her face was thinner and they were more flattering? or maybe it was just because she was younger and her face hadn't sagged

the thing is, the media at the time was vicious; they ridiculed her dark headbands and said she looked like an aging graduate student

i will always remember that phrase, it was so nasty

I remember that. For the same reason I didn't like Sarah Palin being given some sort of unearned merit badge because she's attractive, I also didn't like to see the press making foul remarks about Hillary's appearance as though it by default made her less worthy. What beauty pageant did any of them win to judge her like that?

It's interesting, a good part of politics is perception. But that kind of viewing of a person's value is really off. And frankly it's cruel. I remember feeling bad for Hillary back then especially because woman to woman I knew that she probaby struggled with feeling attractive due to Bill's .....extra curricular activities.

Hillary is a human being and though I've often not liked her political way of doing things, I have always resented the hits she's taken about her looks. She's an attractive lady, she has her own style. And if she feels great in a headband then she should wear one. And if she want's to get fluffed and permed, that's fine, too. There are brains and feelings beneath either do and the media have often ignored that.

I'm not a fan of the headband, but she looks radiant. Much like I wasn't a fan of Michelle Obama's election night dress, but her happiness made her positively beautiful.

Hilary can do as she likes, she (and we) deserve to choose our own style and please ourselves in this relatively minor and unimportant area. She looks fantastic with the hair swept back and this particular headband is very chic. She radiates achievement and purpose and seems very happy. Can we as people just be happy for her. Get over it.

You really do have Hillary-hating CDS. Stick to bashing her about her "lack of credentials" for SoS and how you think she's the D-e-v-i-l incarnate. Mocking someone for appreciating her appearance just illustrates what a spiteful person you are.

Hillary is beautiful no matter how she wears her hair.I know that she will do a great job, better than what we have had in the last 8 years. I cant wait for jan. 20 .

Nooo! I'm a big fan of Senator Clinton's but the headband has got to go. It doesn't flatter her! Although she looks absolutely radiant in those recent pics....headband or no!

like removing the headband is going to make her a good SoS. Too funny. Maybe removing her husband would help.

Now, if she could just work on those pantsuits. I'm sure they cost a lot of money, but they look so cheesy.
