He's ready to go back to representing "rogue" nations and "dictators" again-
He'll start making money off people trying to "harm" the U.S.
What a bum-

Charles Black was the Darth Vader of the finally uprooted NeoCon Executive Branch Control Empire. His lobby firm was the cash drawer for access to the "right" people. I bet you will find his fingerprints all over the KBR monopoly on contract issuance for the Iraq War.

It appears that in D.C. every politician's spouse is a lobbyist. Nice little racket they have going.

He was a lobbyist, afterall. Why is this really a story?

Yes, McCain was a hypocrite for claiming to be a lobby-free maverick and hiring this scmuck. Got it. But on the flip side, had McCain won (thank YHWH he didn't) I'm sure some of President Elect Obama's advisors, like Shapiro and Mercado, would return to their day jobs, too. And Black would have a cushy office in the WH.

Lobbying -- Lobbying is the practice of influencing decisions made by government. It includes all attempts to influence legislators and officials, whether by other legislators, constituents or organized groups.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lobbying

Lobby -- to promote (as a project) or secure the passage of (as legislation) by influencing public officials
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/lobbyist

Two questions always apply to the act of lobbying -- how and what for. The how includes a third question in that how you go about lobbying will be greatly influenced by who you associate with in your lobbying practice. That is -- whom you lobby for in practice. Now if you lobby such that the nation is made weaker to the benefit of some, then what you are lobbying for cannot be considered worthy based on that outcome. Industry has a right to self-interest. A business, whose self-interest robs the public, injures the individual, erodes the sanctity of the life-sustaining environment, or in any way can be credibly deemed counter to the interest of the governing idea or basic decency, is not an interest worth lobbying for and is thus unacceptable. The how of lobbying -- also includes, not bribing, not blackmailing, not smearing, and not lying to affect the desired outcome. A business should not be an enemy of the aggregate such that favor need be given to allow assault on the aggregate for profits sake.
