McConnell Warns Reid: You Better Listen To Us, Or Else

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Friday sent a message to Democrats that Republicans are not prepared to bend to a stronger majority.

In letter to Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), McConnell urged Reid to adopt a more conciliatory tone and warned him that Republicans will unite against Democrats if he does not. The letter was signed by all 40 GOP senators and two Republican incumbents who are awaiting the results of elections in Georgia and Minnesota.

Reid can warmly assure McConnell that the majority Democrats will give the minority Republicans the same legislative rights the Republicans gave the Democrats for the last seven years. The Republicans deserve the same open amendment process and the opportunity for debate they gave the Democrats. After all, fair is fair.

Pretend to be conciliatory and do what you want. Make every legislative vote high profile and call them out on what will continue to be an unpopular voting record. The Republicans at this moment have no ideas, nothing to run on, and a very bad history that people will struggle for years to get out their head.
