I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Rachel Maddow, the increasingly popular MSNBC host and the subject of a new Newsweek profile, appeared on Conan O'Brien Friday night for what proved to be an entertaining chat. One particularly amusing part of the interview involved Maddow talking about being a serious child--"I was sort of born a little old guy"--whose favorite childhood game was called "Iran," which was based on the Iran-Iraq war. She also discussed her fan mail, which tends to include lots of letters from straight man asking about being a lesbian.

This was a good interview. I would have liked to see more. I'm a male lesbian and I heart Rachel Maddow.

She is the Tina Turner of Journalism. Simply the best, better than all the rest.
I missed the interview with Senator Obama, as I just discovered MSNBC a couple of months ago.
I can thank Bill O'Reilly for the publicity he generated against Keith Olbermann to make me check out the show "Countdown, with Keith Olbermann". Thanks Billo, not that I ever watched Faux News but your mouth was so big against the show that I had to check it out myself. Are you getting a stipend check from MSNBC for that genus move?

"I was born a little old guy," .... fortunately, she outgrew it :)

(GOB's, please remain in the closets to which you've retreated, we know, you just don't get it :)

You hit that on the head. I love KO, and I'm always disappointed when he's got the night off and someone else fills in for him. (Yes, of course, he earns his vaca time. I just miss him, is all.) But I never minded when it was Rachel hosting his hour.

Much appreciation goes to KO for pushing the network to give Rachel her own gig. Hers is the best weeknight hour on MSNBC. Personality, grace, a great sense of humor, and a highly functioning brain. A very winning combo.

I love her, I just wish she wouldn't wear those silly glasses... but she only wears contacts for the show... It always looks like she has to look up to see the host, lol..

I love her though, I see her show on podcast every night!

I'm a straight man and I love Rachel even though she is... a Stanford graduate.

Go Bears!

She gives and conducts interviews very well, but I think her show persona became far too silly after the election. If I hear "thingy" one more time I'm calling it quits. Maybe it's a demo 'thingy'

I now tune in to see who she's going to have on, and that determines whether, and how long, I watch.

The RM show is still too much rehash of the content on KO's show. I don't want to hear and see it twice, though she does present some good segments and analysis.
It's a shame the shows follow one another.

Yeah, I wish they could get together and make sure they are focusing on different news. I can only watch one of the shows per night.

I noticed a bit of "sameness" as well. I think it's kind of across the board, and not just Keith and Rachel (and Chris, but I'm stretching here). I am no political analyst, but I chalk it up to post-election fall-out and exhaustion. Except for news of another Obama cabinet item, there's not as much "zing" happening as pre-election. A little more time and things will right themselves.

I -heart- The Rachel Maddow Show.

Hey guys...are you forgetting that the show begins at 9pm? by that time, everything that could be reported on already has! I think it's unfair to expect Rachel to come up with some crazy unexpected news to report at the end of the day...that's kind of a supernatural feat in this business.
Besides, don't forget that her show is not straight up news - it is an analysis of important developments. Therefore, Olberman and everybody else have probably been harping on the same issues all day long.
The reason I still devote an hour to Rachel's show is because unlike most of the other shows, she gives us good guests whose views are really heard...instead of having to listen to arguments between guests...so please keep supporting her!....if viewers of O'Riely, Hannity and the like can sentence themselves to the views of those deranged individuals, we can afford to devote an hour to the likes of Olberman and Maddow...don't you think?

Rachael, you are so Hot!
And what makes you that Hot, is that gigantic brain. That big, sexy, rip my clothes off brain.
Watching you grill a guest or make a case for your point of view is like foreplay.
Emotional arousal.
About time someone pulled you out of the radio booth and placed you in front of a camera. Girl !" you got looks."
Starting to see the appeal?
Beauty and Brains.
This is one straight guy who is jealous of your girlfriend. Lucky girl.

yeah, yeah, i know she is super smart..........but, why is she so snarky.......i mean why is everthing told in such a sarcastic tone. i dont get it.

it is not funny, or amusing. or serious.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 06:32 PM on 11/22/2008

she is snarky for the same reason that police officers and fire fighters and EMT's and others often use vary dark humor to deal with their jobs. it's coping mechanism to allow her to deal with watching the right wing attempt to destroy the country she loves for the last 8 years.

my friends are all the same way.

do you prefer the open bitter hatred and anger of the limbaugh, o'reilly, hannity, coulter crowd?
