GOP Attack Group Freedom's Watch Falling Apart

Las Vegas Review Journal:

Freedom's Watch, the conservative group backed by Las Vegas Sands Corp. Chairman Sheldon Adelson, is pretty much kaput, sources with knowledge of the organization said.

The group's dozens of staffers have been paid through the end of the year. After that, Freedom's Watch is likely to shut its doors permanently, said the sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

He meddled in politics to his detriment and even tried meddling into Israeli politics, giving money to the conservatives who opposed peace talks. His family life is in shambles, but this man just wanted more money and more power and now he's losing both.

And gambling is no more "praying on the innocent" than let's say watching cable 5 hours a day and companies benefiting from it. On average, on a yearly basis probably people spend more on TV and cable internet than gambling. Anyone that thinks Vegas is not fun is weird to me.

I LIVE here in Vegas.
It's not fun. It's a culturally deficient backwater in the middle of nowhere.
Fortunately/Unfortunately, the housing bubble hit hard here and people are hurting to the point where they didn't vote against their best interests in November.
When I first moved here 10 years ago, it was a Red state. Now, thank goodness, it's Blue.
That doesn't mean that there are no longer people here of Adelson's ilk.
I, for one, am GLAD to see Adelson and Freedom Watch tank.
The Sands Corp has become Karma's bitch. And it's a beautiful thing to see.

This is awesome news. These creeps spammed the airwaves for months here in Oregon with their cowardly hatred of paying their fair share for America. I celebrated Jeff Merkley's victory over them as much as his win over Gordon Smith.
