David Letterman's "Top 10 List" tonight was Sarah Palin's top ten excuses. The list refers to the unfortunate interview that Palin gave right after she pardoned a turkey for Thanksgiving. As Palin answered questions, a worker right behind her was slaughtering turkeys in a turkey grinder. Palin seemed oblivious to the gruesome events as she continued talking for three minutes. Watch Letterman's top ten excuses Palin gave for the turkey massacre.

How about an interview where she asked why she missed Alaska's conference on Education last week.
Enough of this turkey nonsense!

It's like cowbell ... cant get enough. The turkey "nonsense" goes to the heart of who Sarah Palin is. She is a very stupid politician who has no clue that she is very stupid but believes she is the Next Leader of the Republicans, as do many very stupid Republicans.

Education has never been her priority. Her husband never went to college, her college record is pretty shotty, her daughter will probably drop out, and her daughter's bf has already dropped out. No wonder she's against the educated "elite".

Sarah cleaned up the Oil and Gas Commission. Wow... that must've been easier than I thought. What did she say to the commission? "Stop it." I can't imagine her doing much else. Oh! -Or maybe she planted a few of her moose hunting separatist friends in strategic locations with barrels loaded. (Not oil barrels if you know that I mean) ;-)

It's also funny how she is a poppular govenor who capitalizes on "socialist tactics" Hmmm
Could this woman among everthing else be a hypocrit?!!.

Sarah stay in Alaska and do your civic duty-Keep and eye on Russia and keep away from the bad media. Flash! Can any one imagine if we had to officially send her to London? Oh the bad media,
the horror, the horror.

I'll tell you up front I'm a vegetarian. My view of this whole thing is she was definitely not too savvy and didn't think about where she was standing. I'm sure the camera crew knew exactly what they were doing. Secondly, I find it fascinating that everyone wants to deny what goes on with the slaughter of animals. Most people want to eat it but they don't want to think about it. Somehow people use denial to absolve themselves of responsibility. I honestly think this video has done a service to animals, and I'd bet my last cent that it created a few vegetarians just in time for Thanksgiving.

um, nope. She knew exactly where she was standing. She just didn't THINK that it might upset some viewers. As in those who do NOT know where that big, fat juicy turkey comes from.

Look, my grandparents had a small farm, they raised chickens. Every sunday Grandpa grabbed a chicken and lopped off its head. Grandma then plucked, cleaned and cooked it. And yes I was present for those activities. Not pretty but definitely essential unless one wants to starve.

Palin is clueless about other people. She only sees herself. Can we all say "narcissist?"

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 10:54 AM on 11/25/2008

That's possible too. Carnage is nothing to her.

Still, in today's world, meat is not the only option. Few people would starve without it.

I admire your honesty. There are people who are mistreated every day, small children are killed by their parents. Don't get me wrong, animals are a big part of our lives, but where would we put all the turkeys so they could have a good life? Maybe we could Adpot-a-turkey?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 10:56 AM on 11/25/2008

We wouldn't have to put them anywhere. We'd just stop breeding them.

OMG I am so happy to see a fellow soulful peaceful person out there. Bless you and like yourself, I'm very happy to be living peacefully while giving thanks. Been a vegan since the early '80's and can't understand why in 2008 people sanction skinning alive animals whose screaming falls on the deaf and careless ears of their slaughterers. I know this, because "I'm one of those" people who have visited slaughterhouses and seen the worst of these "Treblinka's". And statistics don't lie. People who "work" in these holocaust factories have the highest rates of spousal domestic abuse, violence and substance abuse. Duh! And lest not forget No Country For Old Men. The cycle of violence reaches far beyond the murder of voiceless helpless slaves. Wake up people. Palin would go to war as easily as W because they are de-sensitized to the pain of others, including you and I. Not rocket science folks! There are no grey areas for murder!

How dare you compare an animal slaughterhouse to Treblinka. Most reasonable people would agree that the slaughter system in this country is grossly mismanaged and horribly inhumane. That being said, one cannot murder or enslave animals, because they are not people. You are a deranged fanatic with as little a grasp of reality as Bush and Palin. Enjoy your tastless tofu mush on Thanksgiving. I'll stick with the turkey.

The phrase "acting like a chicken with its head cut off" actually refers to the contraction of the
muscles.
The turkey has to bleed out after it is dead. Looks like they recycle that blood. It is protein.
Anybody who can gut a moose is inured to the slaughter of turkeys.

Turkeys, like most birds, have a basal ganglia in their lower spines that controls most lower body movement. That's why birds continue to move, or even run, after their heads are removed.

Want to do something gross at the dinner table? Take a chicken thigh and remove the basal ganglia from the back end of the spine. It's usually exposed when the thigh is cut from the backbone. It's the gray thingy that looks like a little brain.

You're Welcome.

I see posts suggesting there is Palin-envy. This just shows how clueless Repubs are. The left's fixation is because after 8 years of Dubya, the fact that a majority of polled Repubs want the female version of Dubya as POTUS shows that Repubs are really too stupid to have their opinions taken seriously. It would be funny if your leaders weren't ruining the country. Palin is unfit for any elected offie higher than PTA President.

JulieSA, I guess you missed Sarah Palin's interviews with Charles Gibson and Katie Couric, and her telephone "conversation" with "Nicolas Sarkozy", etc., etc., etc.? Do yourself a favor and educate yourself by paying a visit www.youtube.com and searching for "Palin." You'll need several days/weeks/months to view everything that is available. These important videos will form an important archival base from which to create anti-Palin commercials in the event she should ever choose to seek national office again. Have a nice day, JulieSA!

Except for the constant Republican voting against cloture, you'd be right. Republicans have voted against cloture of Senate bills a record number of times in the past 2 years, making them the blockage in Congress that stops anything from being done. That's why the 60 votes is so important, bozo. And THAT'S why the Republicans are shaking in their boots about the Democrats getting 60 votes. Because the obstructionism will be OVER.

I agree. It is all about poor judgment and a complete and total lack of awareness. All traits I would expect in a governmental leader. Palin is not a contender. I know the religious faction loves her faith-based analysis, but it's really not going to get us where we need to be. We need the elite, not Joe the Plumber, who's name is actually Sam and who lacks a license to be a plumber. Kind of like Sarah lacking the stuff to be POTUS.
