Alan Colmes Announces Departure On Air: 'I'm Proud Of Fox News'

Last night, on Hannity And Colmes, co-host officially announced his plans to depart the show he's co-hosted for twelve years: "At the risk of stealing President-elect Obama's buzzword, change is coming to this show." As reported, Colmes will stay with the Fox network, producing radio and web content. "I am proud of the Fox News Channel," Colmes said, repeating the "My work is done" quip that he gave TVNewser as news broke of his departure. Sean Hannity thanked Colmes, joking, "I can't believe you're doing this to me. You're leaving Barack Obama to me." "Lots of luck," Colmes replied.

There are no plans to replace Colmes at this time.

A Senator or Congress person needs to challenge the FCC approval of FOX News federal licensing based upon the question, does FOX News provide news and information in the “public interest?” Most people, including I would wager wingnuts themselves know they do not. It is time to use the law to test whether or not televised propaganda under the label of a news channel is allowable. Now it can be done.

You should probably try picking yourself up a constitution. Then read the first amendment. Or perhaps you should try actually watching the FOX News Channel instead of viewing tiny, misleading clips from sites like media matters. FOX truly is the most fair and balanced and there are numerous studies and public surveys to prove it. For instance, Pew released a survey about a month ago, and the majority of participants said FOX was the fairest of all the channels. To say that it is a conservative network is ludicrous. E.D. Hill, Shepard Smith, Greta Van Sustern, Alan Colmes....­all liberal anchors. And, don't forget, that the person who did the famous "conservative hit job," Chris Wallace, was a registered Democrat for over two decades!

Also, since your for silencing FOX, are you also for taking MSNBC off the air as well? You can't honestly think that Mathews, Olbermann, and Maddow deliver the news fairly. I mean MSNBC is just slightly to the right of the Soviet state run news service.

Look at how those studies are conducted. They're not indisputable and are truly dubious at best. The Pew survey is a joke. Let's go ask a bunch of people who either watch Fox, and thus would have been biased towards it or would not have watched Fox or any cable news and thus have been unqualified to give an opinion and then draw conclusions from taht.

And, there's a big difference between a left-wing pundit who is admittedly a left-wing pundit being biased and a right-wing pundit declaring himself an independent and spewing right-wing propaganda (O'Reilly) or a right-wing nutjob like Hannity reporting things that are false under any interpretation and saying that they are facts.

E.D. Hill is a liberal? Terrorist fistjab woman? Shepard Smith is not liberal either. Greta Van Susteren? She says whatever the others do but with less fire. So, you have Alan Colmes left, and he's leaving. That's balanced.

If I hadn't read about Colmes's departure on HuffPo, I would have never known about it. I never pay attention to anything FOX-related. To be certain, I only see clips of Fixed News when they get rerun on "The Daily Show", "The Colbert Report", "Countdown with Keith Olbermann" and HuffPo.

Alan Colmes is supposed to be liberal. Liberal on Faux News probably refers to Richard Nixon's views.
