Brenden was an eight year old boy who went from running around in circles, going on adventures and wasting chunks of time to a bed-ridden patient with the full understanding that his last day was imminent.

When asked by Elisa Jaffe, a Seattle, KOMO News reporter, how he could be so courageous in facing death, he simply replied: "it happens, it's natural."

His last dying wish? To feed the homeless. Said he: "they're probably starving, so give'em a chance. Food and water."

Then he had another wish: to sprinkle wildflower seeds to save the bees. He heard somewhere that bees were in trouble. His wish was answered. A retired pilot asked his industry friends to sprinkle wildflowers around the world on Brenden's behalf.

"I should be gone in a week or so," he said calmly, a few days before he died.

Brenden Foster should have had tomorrow, and the next day, but he didn't. He should have driven a car, and went to the prom, and got married and had children and died an old man, surrounded by a lifetime of colors, but he didn't. And that was okay with him.

"I had a great time. And until my time comes, I'm going to keep having a great time," he said.

Oh how the world would flourish if we were all as selfless and at peace as he was.
