I Like ItI Don’t Like It

On Tuesday, John McCain held his first press conference since the election. Asked if he would ever run for president again, the Arizona Senator seemed to find the idea so funny that he could barely get a word out. Finally, he managed to say, "I do not envision a scenario that would entail that." He does, however, intend to run for Senate again. Watch:

McCain also praised his running mate Sarah Palin, calling her "a breath of fresh air that swept the country."

"We worked hard and inspired a lot of people," he said. "We look back with pride on the campaign we ran."

"I think Governor Palin's future is very bright," McCain added. "I think she did a great job of energizing our base. I'm very proud of her."

"We look back with pride on the campaign we ran."

I'd be very interested in hearing McCain explain what aspects of his campaign he is proud of. Not only did he lose, but it was a poorly run and erratic campaign which stooped to inciting hatred, racism and bigotry, while propelling Palin and the Plumber into the media spotlight as "ambassadors" of the Republican party.

I think the word he was looking for was "shame", but he confused strategy and tactics before, so maybe it's just the Alzheimer's kicking in again.

His campaign was a failure. Just goes to show how out of touch and delusional he is when he says he's proud of his campaign and proud of Palin. I laugh hysterically whenever I hear him say that. By the way, I thought he looked about ten years older in this video. I think the campaign took a toll on him.

The one thing I could never forgive McCain for is choosing Sarah Palin as his VP. That decision will forever be a blight on his political legacy.

.........and the rest of us for having to deal with the stress of her being bumped up in fame and celebrity. She will never go away. Thanks John! Aren't you proud?

obviously a good choice considering Sarah gets you all worked up. Excellent choice, without her McCain would have tanked even worse then he did.

Absolutely agree! That, and the circumstances of divorcing his first wife, are two things he can NEVER live down.

Much funnier was his comment today in reference to Palin that "she energized my base". I was LM@O! It was one of those "fellow prisoner" moments. Poor guy..............sigh

There's no fool like an old fool, especially when it comes to his "base".

She energized the base, and alienated the middle and the left. Well, done, Sarah! You're a democrat's dream come true!

He said "my base" ...not "the base". Two different thought processes going on there. Freud would have a hayday with that one.

He looks back "with pride" on the most dishonorable campaign run by anyone in the last 50 years. Palin energized the base alright, by inciting them to make violent threats against Obama. Naturally, he's "very proud of her". What a loathsome little man.

There should be a age limit on all of these old a&& white men running for office. Why should they get retirement pay plus there regular pay. MAKE THEM RETIRE AT RETIREMENT AGE. Thats why everything all f--cked up,they live in the past, we need young fresh and intelligent people running things, You can tell they have no life even with all the money they have.

I am laughing hysterically at the very thought myself. Maybe he should focus his energies on getting Bin Laden since he "knows how to get him".

Yes, maybe he discussed that when he met with President-Elect Obama last week. You know putting "country first" would dictate that he share his plan of how to nab Bin Laden.

I think these titles are misleading. Look up the word hysterical in the dictionary.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 08:09 PM on 11/25/2008

okay, I did.

hysterical - "affected by uncontrolled emotion"

that seems apt to me, especially considering the "informal" definition - "extremely funny".
