Peter Orszag Says Goodbye

The U.S. is gaining an OMB director, but losing an economics blogger.

On the Congressional Budget Office's Director's Blog, Peter Orszag announced that he has entered his final blog entry. "Today President-elect Obama announced his intention to nominate me as director of the Office of Management and Budget. I am therefore resigning as director of CBO and this will be my final blog entry," he wrote.

While the U.S. may need him more in his new role, the econoblogosphere is losing an important voice. Over the last year, Orszag has been a major contributor to a broader debate, and has added a useful perspective to the debate.
