Counterterrorism Blog reports that Al Qaeda isn't pleased with the media reaction to its anti-Obama missive:

Global reactions to Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri's controversial condemnation of U.S. President-Elect Barack Obama as a "House Slave" (or, alternatively, "House Negro") have begun to pour in -- including via the top jihad web forums used by Al-Qaida to disseminate its propaganda. Though hardcore Al-Qaida supporters have predictably dismissed any criticism of Dr. al-Zawahiri and are fiercely backing his choice of words, there is a rather ironic (if not entirely unfamiliar) twist to this issue. After observing international press reporting on the incident, these same supporters are now bitterly attacking the media for its "unfair" pro-Obama bias and for deliberately "confusing" the meaning of al-Zawahiri's message.

Experts in the U.S. have interpreted the tape as showing fear among jihadists that President Obama will dilute their message and make it harder from them to recruit. "By returning to American values the world admires, Obama sets al Qaeda back enormously in the battle of ideas, the ideological struggle which determines whether al Qaeda will continue to have significant support in the Islamic world," said Richard Clarke.

It's a sad day for the Republicans when their so-called "enemies" are spouting off the same talking points, electing Obama really did bring change to America. The far right t errorist hate machine is already in a tizzy about how to continue to spread their cause for religious war.

That is why Al Qaida backed John McCain: they knew he would be another Bush-like President keeping us in endless war that would bankrupt our economy, and Al Qaida could have attacked us at free will. But with Obama's win, who looks like them and who has three names (Barack Hussein Obama) that they could relate to, and policies that work against them, their cause for religious war is defeated.

Terrorism is a useless tactic that belies a lack of confidence in the people to make fundamental change. However, Zawahri's message regarding the pro-capitalist message of the President-Elect, especially on Afghanistan is well-designed. Obama is inconsistent (to say the least) by opposing the military adventure in Iraq and simultaneously escalating a war in Afghanistan. Practically, how many billions per day would an escalation in Afghanistan cost? It seems at best contradictory to speak of improving the economy on one side your mouth while "rattling sabres" and commiting ourselves to a blackhole of spending with the other side. How is raising the number of troops and military incursion into another country any different than the last 6-7 years of Bush's failed policies?
From the perspective of the people of Afghanistan (Zawahri may be a poor conduit of that sentiment, but at bottom it is the people of Afghanistan and others in the Middle East whose interests he is conveying), more U.S. troops means less autonomy and self-determination. We literally drive whole sections of Afghanis into the camp of warlords and terrorists by these bullying tactics. And, what of the threat to widen the war into Pakistan?
How about this: withdraw the troops from this fruitless war, engage in diplomacy to support self-determination for the people of Afghanistan, and be a friend to the Arab peoples including the right to self-determination of the Palistinians, whose struggle is at the heart of all of "this".

OK if it wasn't for 9/11 and living through it and witnessing the towers come down I'd say AlQuaeda is like a Mike Myers invention of an evil character....they are debating the MSM and weighing in on their image via the media? What the hell?!

These cats are gonna' have a hard time selling hate now, that's why they are in such a tizzy. Terrorists relying on the press to deliver their messages and complete a false narrative, everyone's needs are fulfilled, while Americans attack one another like crabs in a barrel on the silliest of issues.

Maybe it is because he saw babwa Walters call the Obamas cute and funny, or that Chris Mathews gets tingly (and mist) up his legs, or that by 10 - 1 the media reported Obama over McCain or that by 80 - 1 favorable to negative..Don't think there is any fear here but rather Joe Biden's worry about tests will come home to roost

Wow how are Al Qaida testing Obama by complaining about how much press coverage he gets? I believe it was Richard Clarke who said that Al Qaida actually fears Obama because he is very popular not just here in the US, but around the world. If anything, Al Qaida seems to be suffering the same fate as the Republican Party, struggling to find a way to convey their message.
