Washington Post:

Ethics disclosure forms recently obtained under the Freedom of Information Act contained this oddity: $300 in clothes and footwear from ... CNBC.

Turns out that the network's Maria Bartiromo sat down with the Alaska governor in August, just days before she became John McCain's running mate. The interview about oil, energy and drilling was conducted in Palin's Anchorage office, where she wore her own suit and high heels, according to CNBC sources. The producers asked to continue the interview in the oil fields; since Palin didn't have outdoor gear at the office, a CNBC assistant raced out to buy a jacket and hiking shoes for the location shoot.

The network didn't give it another thought, but Palin dutifully reported it as a gift on her disclosure form.

Gosh, maybe I'll run for Governor or POTUS or VP. Seems like the perks are pretty good. Those $1000 cowboy boots sound like just the thing for my closet.

If you do a TV show, they provide the wardrobe but you don't get to keep it.

Why is the media not asking about Palin's NAR/Third Wave connections?

Why didn't CNBC tell her they wanted an on-site shot to begin with? Sounds like sloppy planning led to selling out ethically to "get the shot."

Do the Republican Donors know that they are footing the bill for $1000 custom made boots for every Governor because they attended a conference? How many of these Donors are on long lines today, Black Friday, looking to shave $10 off of that pair of Tom Mccans they had their eye on.

And how much did Obama pay for the Styrofoam Acropolis?

You didn't like it? I helped pay for it.

It was obviously money well spent.

It was far more benign and inviting than McCain's cold FourthRe.i.ch Neo-Scottsdale stage where he made his concession speech, you gotta admit.

Good point. Obama should have used a plywood stage.

You're right! Obama should have used his own Styrofoam Acropolis instead of demanding that they buy him a new one.

Ummm... how many people have never been to D.C.? It's obvious that it was supposed to reflect the architecture of Washington, which was inspired by Greek architecture.

Besides that, there's a big difference between buying something for the campaign that will not be used privately and buying something that will be for private use, until you get caught with it.

It's a shame that the left didn't take as much time researching Mr. Biden as they did every step Sarah made.

Maybe if they did they would have admitted:

12 mistakes in the V.P. debate
The resturaunt he says he always goes to hasn't existed in ten years
the man in the wheelchair that he asked to stand up at a rally
the fact that he wants everyone to pay more taxes, but he gave almost nothing to charity last year.

Obama, seems to be a bright man, but maybe if the media were a little more balanced the world wouldn't have been so obsessed with a woman's clothes. Maybe, they would have actually covered where the candidates stood on the issues.

Best of Luck, Mr President. No matter what party you're from.

The "left" already knows about Biden. They know he's Center Left; that he has a long record in the Senate as part of his life-long public service. The Obama campaign has thoroughly vetted Joe Biden. His verbal mistakes and gaffes concerning the details you mentioned do not indicate how Biden "stood on the issues." And what does Biden's amount given to charity have to do with his policy considerations?

Biden does not want "everyone to pay more taxes." He said he wants the wealthiest 5% among us to start paying their fair share of taxes. Please do not try to parrot l.i.e.s told you by right wing talk radio. The media is already skewed to favor conservative corporate America, so I don't know what kind of media balance you are hoping for. The "world" is NOT obsessed with Palin's clothes, but the celebrity-driven American corporate media IS. However, in this case, the corporate media cannot be held responsible for Sarah Palin's abysmal debut on the national stage.

It is funny how Obama said he would cut taxes for 95% of Americans. That will be very hard to do considering that 30% of Americans pay no taxes.

This woman knows no shame. But she knows how to get free clothes, that's for sure. And she is against socialism? Even in socialism people don't get free clothes, so she is already a step ahead.

There is something opportunistic about this Sarah Palin. She doesn't seem to ever turn down an offer of free clothing or services. She couldn't have sent someone to her home to pick up clothes that would have been more suitable?

Why wear old clothes when you can have new free ones. I wonder what Chambless is buying for her down in Georgia.
