North Shore And People's Gas Prices Under Scrutiny

A watchdog group says it needs to take a close look at the purchasing practices of a major Illinois utility.

North Shore and Peoples Gas are both owned by parent company Integrys. This month, they're charging customers about a $1.02 per therm for natural gas. That's about 30 percent more than what Nicor is charging its Northern Illinois customers.

That difference has drawn the attention of the watchdog Citizens Utility Board.
